We had reserved a condo in another complex; getting down to the wire we found out it might not be ready for our week--here comes the anxiety... Then Kelly provided a few other options to choose from and we ended up staying in a new (to us) complex, and the condo exceeded expectations. Great condo layout--the rooftop access was a wonderful bonus. Select Vacations made check in/out easy and convenient and made sure we had the information we needed ahead of time. Very well stocked kitchen. Only thing my family would have preferred is softer beds/mattresses and king size pillows on king sized beds. However, this wouldn’t stop us from staying at this property again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location of our Sanibel stay! It was great to be back on Sanibel and gulf front. The condo is well appointed, and still in the process of being updated - with some blinds needing hung, and items on the porch needing updated. . We did have some maintenance issues while there - staff good about responding, but were delayed due to holiday. Because of Hurricane, no-see-ums are very prevalent as well as other bugs this summer.

There was a window slat broken in one of the twin bedrooms and we called about it on the weekend when we got there but no one ever came to fix it. We put some paper in it to hold it up so you could close it. But, overall it was great.

Anniversary Delight

Reviewer Comments: We always knew we would celebrate our 40th anniversary on Sanibel but we didn’t plan on a hurricane doing the damage it did to the island. We’ve been vacationing on Sanibel for the last 17 years and have stayed in several different locations on the island. We have never stayed in a place with an ocean view and the view from this condo is breathtaking. The condo is beautiful and the furniture is comfortable. The porch was my favorite spot! The kitchen had everything We needed and more. We didn’t visit the pool but it looked great. There was a storage room on the ground floor that had everything you’d need for the beach. One elevator was working and that was nice but we used the stairs quite a bit. Even with all the work taking place on the island the noise was never a problem. I can only make positive remarks about this property. It was a perfect week.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were so excited to be returning to Sanibel! Fortunately, even though the condo we originally rented at a different complex was not available due to ongoing construction, SVP was able to offer us a range of alternative properties from which to choose. The Compass Pointe complex is conveniently located in about the middle of the island. We had a stunning view of the gulf from #133. The lanai is large with a table for 4 as well as comfortable loungers. A real added bonus is the spiral staircase from the lanai which leads to the rooftop where we watched the full moon rise over Ft Myers Beach and could see beautiful sunset colors to the west. There are even chairs up there to facilitate stargazing.The bedrooms were spacious, especially the master, and its bathroom was large with a beautifully tiled shower and tub area. The second bathroom was also nicely tiled and decorated though much smaller. Having a king bed in both bedrooms was a bonus as well. The third "bonus" room has 2 twin beds and is smaller yet, ok for kids.The kitchen was the most well appointed of any condo we have seen and the openness to the dining table and living room facilitated conversation and allowed a view to the gulf. Washing dishes is just less painful when you can see the ocean!We have rented many times from SVP and they once again proved to be excellent at problem solving and overall communication. A few issues with the ongoing construction at the complex were acknowledged and addressed very nicely. Sanibel is recovering from hurricane Ian and is in much better shape than a year ago (we stayed on Captiva for a week in 2023) and with more time it will only improve. If you want a great Sanibel experience, rent from SVP and consider this property.

We returned this year, missing 2023 due to Ian. I found our units at Compass point on February and booked them through Select Vacations. We were very pleased. Units were beautiful and although there was 1 maintenance glitch, it was corrected expeditiously. The island is coming back, but much remains. But on the whole my family’s love for Sanibel was renewed!

Sanibel Retreat

We loved Compass pointe! The unit was comfortable and quickly became home. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and relax after a day on the beach. The only challenges were using the stairs, especially when moving in and out, and the bugs were bad. We all returned home covered with multiple itchy bites.

Everything worked wonderfully and the amenities were great. Seems to have been recently renovated. The rooftop deck was lovely, however, the gnats and no-see-ins can get you since those can’t be screened in! King bed is very firm. Two twins were very comfortable and the other two were very springy and hard.
