The REFUGE is the perfect place to relax in harmony with nature.

The fifth "The Refuge" is located in the middle of green field in the Valley of San Vicente, 5 minutes walk from the town center. Away from the hustle of the cities this is "The Refuge" perfect for those who want to relax and be close to nature.

Property: The house is set in a land of about 2910 m2 bordered by a river and footpath. This plot has direct access to the regional road and is situated at the base of a small hill in the middle of the great valley of São Vicente. On the property there is a small viewpoint overlooking the sea and mountains and even a swing for children.

The house, rustic route, is perfectly integrated into the green surroundings. Is distributed over 2 floors and has 2 bedrooms, living room with fireplace, kitchen, dining room, bathroom with shower, toilet and laundry area.

Children and infants:
protection bars for bed, 2 cots, high chair meals, playground, first car seat up to 36 kg + car seat for children.

Sleeping: Bedroom 1 - double bed, bedroom 2 - double bed. Living Room - 2 sofa bed extra bed + double bed (on request). Up to 10 people. 2 cots + 1 baby park.

Kitchen: Refrigerator, gas stove, wood stove, wood stove, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, microwave, water heater.

WC: one bathroom upstairs with shower + one restroom downstairs.

Facilities: Free Wi-Fi, cable TV and parking.

Leisure: Barbecue, inflatable pool of 2.5 m diam. and a swing for children, hammocks, a stream by the house, gardens all around, and a viewpoint with chestnuts, quite nice.

Attractiveness: Near the volcanic center of Madeira and the caves of São Vicente, the Lime Route of the most visited Surf beach north coast, 15 minutes drive from the natural pools of Porto Moniz.

Just had an amazing holiday at the Refuge- setting is just breathtaking- Mountain Views everywhere. And I must say our host Ema was brilliant, very responsive to questions, took a call from us at 11pm to guide us as we were not sure we were on the right way and sorted a washing machine issue within 24 hours! Thank you very much Ema!

Maison froide, humide et très sombre.

À notre arrivée, une femme qui je pense est la femme de ménage nous a donné la clé. Pas d'explication, à peine bonjour, pas de contact avec l'hôte. Nous avons trouvé une maison froide humide et très sombre. La cuisine n'a qu'une lumière et de fait n'éclaire pas la plaque de cuisson. Nous avons signalé ce problème mais personne n'est venu. Vis à vis avec ce qui semble être les propriétaires, voitures dans la cour n'aidant pas à la manœuvre, pas de VMC permettant d'évacuer l'humidité... Bref, c'est peut-être une maison pour l'été mais pas en mars. La photo sur le site est trompeuse car nous étions entouré d'autres habitations mais en aucun cas au milieu de 2900 mètres carrés de terrain.. Sur l'annonce il est précisé que l'hôte parle Français mais ce n'est pas le cas.

Ein wahres Refugium in beschaulicher Umgebung

Dieses Haus ist ein idealer Ort, um abseits des Trubels Ruhe und Entspannung in landschaftlich schöner Umgebung zu finden. Es eignet sich auch prima als Startpunkt für Wanderungen, die Startpunkte der meisten in diversen Führern beschriebenen Wanderungen (Levadas u.a.) sind alle in kurzer Zeit mit dem Auto erreichbar (15 bis maximal 60 Autominuten). Da wir im November gebucht hatten, waren wir sehr froh um den Holzofen, mit dem wir das große Wohnzimmer gemütlich heizen konnten. Um diese Jahreszeit wäre es ansonsten manchmal recht kühl bei gleichzeitig hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit, eine weitere Heizung existiert nicht. Im Sommer ist das Haus vermutlich sehr angenehm, wenn es draußen recht heiß ist. Die Hausherrin hat uns mit selbstgebackenem Kuchen empfangen (lecker) und auf Rückfragen schnell reagiert. Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen.

Une maison si agréable, dans un jardin magnifique, idéalement située pour visiter toute l'île !

Tout d'abord, l'accueil : Ema nous a accueilli avec une grande gentilesse, avec des spécialités que nous avons beaucoup appréciées (😊), en nous faisant partager ses lieux préférés, en nous donnant toutes les informations pratiques utiles pour le quotidien. La maison ensuite : située dans un magnifique jardin, avec trois terrasses, un barbecue couvert, un salon gigantesque et tellement agréable,une cuisine super équipée (y compris du poêle et du four traditionnel), que demander de plus ? ! Elle est également idéalement située pour ceux qui souhaitent sillonner toute l'ile depuis un même lieu (tout est à 1h, 1h30 au plus pour les sites les plus éloignés). Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour à Madère. Un grand merci à Ema ! (et pour la recette aussi !)

Un séjour parfait dans un endroit magnifique

Maison spacieuse, au calme, jardin et terrasses magnifiques, on est bercé par le chant des oiseaux. Ema et sa maman qui habite la maison voisine sont adorables, toujours disponibles tout en restant discrètes. Un excellent séjour pour toute la famille.

Idyllisches Ferienhaus

Es war wunderschön in diesem Häuschen mit wundervollem Garten, vielen Terassen rund um das Haus und tollem Grillplatz. Vielen Dank an Ema und Mena, die unseren Urlaub mit frisch gebackenen Kuchen und Salat aus dem Garten und sogar Kinderspielzeug perfekt gemacht haben. Unser Sohn 3,5 jahre hat sich sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist sehr kinderfreundlich. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig, Auto ist jedoch zu empfehlen! Im Haus befindet sich auch ein Kamin, für kältere Tage. Das Haus ist komplett ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Vielen Dank!
