“Hotel proposant de belles prestations avec cependant quelques problèmes rencontrés inacceptables pour un 5 étoiles. Contrairement à l'annonce Expedia, l'hôtel ne propose pas de navette vers l'aéroport. Notre première chambre vue mer, avait des remontées d'odeurs nauséabondes par la salle de bain et la climatisation ne fonctionnait pas. Les rideaux tirés par les personnels de ménage et la salle de bain allumée en permanence pour la ventilation auraient dû nous mettre la puce à l'oreille. Dommage……

“We loved our stay at the hotel, all of the staff was extremely friendly, it was always easy to grab food or drinks. The beach is right outside which was nice. Parking can be a bit tough as the hotel doesnt have a parking garage but they do validate the garage outside. We loved that it’s all inclusive but the food is mediocre on its best day. There are a lot of great restaurants within a few minutes walking. It feels centrally located with all major attractions within an hour each way. We loved……

“Wonderful! The room is very spacious (especially for European standards), clean and comfortable! Bathroom was huge and shower was great. Loved the sauna/spa pool amenities already included with the room fees - those were a great treat after a long day of hiking. The hotel is spotless and has a very modern design. Breakfast was good and convenient to have on-site. Loved the location as well (not as busy as main areas in Funchal) but walking distance to a mall, restaurants and the waterfront.……

“hotel is very clean and well maintained. The gardens are lovely with plant markers, and we even saw bunnies at night. The boutique has reasonably priced beach clothing. Rooms are comfortable, with eco‑friendly AC that shuts off when you leave. The beach is beautiful, and refillable water stations are convenient if you bring a bottle. The resort has a warm, family‑oriented atmosphere. À la carte restaurants were full when we arrived and unable to book a restaurant. The main negative issue is……

“Pestana Royal is a very outdated hotel. If you are looking for clean modern look that is not the place for you. If you are looking for a place with high quality food that is not the right place. Food quality is very poor. It is a very mediocre place with clean rooms and very mediocre food.”
