Amazing place

We loved the penthouse, so clean, spacious, full equipped, an outstanding ocean view, with spectacular sunsets, beach is a walking distance and it’s very safe. We love visiting Hermosa beach!

Great Playa Hermosa setup

Spacious, well-maintained property. Condo is a great setup with nice grounds and easy beach access. Local manager was very easy to work with (once I downloaded Whats App). Our family is already making plans to return & would stay here again.

Top notch rental with priceless views… good location, serene beaches and low key spot with 10 min drive to more festive Coco beach… would definitely recommend this unit and this area in Hermosa beach

Beautiful Facility

Great location. Gardens and pools were well maintained. Super close to the beach, supermarket, and restaurants. Monkeys were swinging from the trees below our balcony. They were so much fun to watch. Recommend visiting, you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful condo!

Our family of four (two teens) enjoyed our stay in this condo - plenty of room to spread out, nicely appointed and once you were inside, it was lovely. The condo is inside a locked, gated entry and the grounds very nice. The outside neighborhood is a very run down area, the walk to the beach was not pleasant. Once you got to the beach it was beautiful. The condo and the beach were great - took off stars only for the location.

Girl’s Trip Fun

We had a fantastic stay at Hermosa Vida! Girls trip with 8 women in October did not disappoint. We had more than enough space for reading, drinking wine, playing games, cooking and of course sitting on the expansive patio. The views from the balcony and rooftop are phenomenal. The location is ideal with wonderful dining options in walking distance and a market across the street. The on-site pools are gorgeous. We heard there’s a great full-service gym, but we were so busy with the beach and other activities that we never made it there. Can’t wait to return with my family!

Enormous Space

We love Playa Hermosa and visit often. We were able to fit our entire extended family into the spacious Hermosa Vida Penthouse. We love to cook, and the kitchen was well equipped. The property was safe and secure for our grandchildren. They loved the pools and play areas. There was a problem with the A/C and the onsite team repaired it immediately. The rooftop deck was amazing with beautiful mountain and ocean views. The town was quiet and peaceful—perfect for our family visit. It was only a short drive to Tamarindo for great surfing and horseback riding. We highly recommend staying at Hermosa Vida Penthouse on your next trip to Costa Rica.

Loved our visit

We traveled with 3 other couples to Costa Rica and stayed in the penthouse condo at Hermosa Del Mar. The beautiful unit provided plenty of space for our large group, though we spent most of our time watching monkeys play in the morning and amazing sunsets at night from the spectacular covered balcony or rooftop patio. The owner is highly responsive and is happy to provide tips for excursions, dining, transportation, and basically anything else you may need. Beautiful Playa Hermosa beach is a 5 minute walk or if you prefer pool time the condo complex has two wonderful pools on its lovely grounds. The town of Playa Hermosa has a surprising number of excellent restaurants for a small beach town or if you prefer to eat in, there’s a nice convenience store directly across the street or a larger grocery store a 10-minute walk away. Don’t hesitate to book your stay here—it’s the perfect place to enjoy the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica!

Ocean and Mountain Views

Pura Vida life is a real thing and the penthouse at Hermosa Vida was the way to make your dreams a reality! What a gorgeous condo that literally was steps from the ocean… The pictures did not do this place justice. I couldn’t have picked a better place to stay! The massive 7th floor balcony was my favorite… waking up and seeing the ocean and the mountains was THE BEST way to start the day! Another favorite was the private rooftop deck to catch the sunset. The spacious home away from home had all you could need and more! The owner’s suggested tours were life-changing and so memorable. Some of the experiences included seeing humpback whales, feeding monkeys, snorkeling, a volcanic mud bath, horseback riding, waterfalls and more! The owner’s suggestions on people to use for excursions, where to eat at the most delicious restaurants and beach spots were the best! Loved the beach massages with a lovely group of therapists. The locals are amazing and accommodating too. There also is a bodega right in front of the entrance for any forgotten conveniences. So, as I close on my “mucho perfecto” stay, I wanted to make sure to share this information for the next lucky guests at the INCREDIBLE Hermosa Vida Penthouse!! Costa Rica is in my heart forever!

This is a Fabulous Penthouse

This is absolutely a gorgeous place. It is the most incredible, spacious space we have stayed at, in all of our travels, and we felt absolutely at home. We were a group of 6 and we had plenty of room to spread out. We could not get enough of the breathtaking views during the day and at night. The huge balcony and private rooftop terrace provide incredible sites of Costa Rica. The unit has a fully stocked kitchen, for those who elect to cook, we on the other hand visited the restaurants on Playa Hermosa beach, less than a 5-minute walk. This penthouse had everything, huge bedrooms, laundry and an abundance of towels, even for the beach or pool. The pool was relaxing as well, and there are two pools to choose from. There is also a gym off of the pool area, with all of the greatest intentions, I only got on the treadmill one day. I truly appreciate the private gated community and felt very safe in the area. There is even a small grocery store directly across the street, if you need to pick up a few items. We absolutely loved Ginger’s Restaurant and Aqua Sports Bar. Matt’s Excursions were a real treat for fishing, ATVs and culture tour. . .picked us up right in front of the building. The location is perfect and you really don’t need a car, unless you just want to go exploring. We absolutely loved this trip to Costa Rica and the penthouse unit made the trip very special. We will be back for another visit!

Great place

Great location, walking distance to beach, stores and restaurants. We did have a rental car also but could have survived without it. Large condo plenty of room for family of eight. Patio was awesome for sunrise and sunset

underpromised and overdelivered - fantastic!

This penthouse surpassed all expectations. Family of four accompanied by two guests, everyone had their own room, tons of space, the balconies and rooftop provided exceptional vistas every sunset and drinking opportunity... As frequent travelers were rather accustomed to nice places, this place went beyond. The decorations were tasteful and culturally. Interesting, the book selection better than our local library, every culinary tool imaginable… And the coffee which was provided was a nice touch as well. The only singular thing that went wrong was that the laundry broke, and the dishwasher did not work terribly well, but those were minor inconveniences, which the manager took care of very quickly. Would not hesitate to go again. Thank you for a lovely stay

Beautiful unit, great location in Hermosa

We loved our stay in Hermosa. The unit is gorgeous and as advertised and walking distance to the beach. Property managers were very responsive and helpful especially because I needed an early check in. We did have issues with wifi so if you need wifi for your stay I would have them confirm it works. Be sure to check out coco vequez and la casita restaurants nearby. Will definitely stay again.

Absolutely Magical Stay at Hermosa Vida Penthouse!

Our time at Hermosa Vida Penthouse was nothing short of unforgettable! The property was a tropical paradise — beautifully maintained, with two serene pools perfect for relaxing dips, a fun playground for the kids, and a sleek, modern gym that kept us feeling great. Every day started with a peaceful 5-minute stroll to Playa Hermosa, along a charming street dotted with cozy local eateries and a handy little market for anything we needed. The beach itself was pure bliss — quiet, uncrowded, and framed by swaying palms. We dined at five different beachfront restaurants, each serving mouthwatering Costa Rican dishes with front-row views of the most breathtaking sunsets we’ve ever seen. The warm, welcoming locals treated us like family everywhere we went. Playa Hermosa is a true hidden gem — tranquil, rustic, and far from the hustle and bustle of busier tourist spots. It’s the perfect place to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature and loved ones. We’re already counting down the days until we return!

Location, location, location!

There was ample space for our two families to enjoy a wonderful vacation in Costa Rica. After a deep-sea fishing trip, the boy’s catch provided us dinner for days. Frozen drinks poolside was a daily activity. The ocean temperature was ideal—refreshing and relaxing. We tried to find a restaurant where the food was not amazing…we failed. What a treat watching the howler monkeys raid the mango trees. We did some shopping at nearby Playa Coco, but preferred Playa Hermosa for its relaxing atmosphere. So many activities: jet skis, horseback riding, hot springs, hikes, zip lining, sunset cruises. We did them all. Such a wonderful place!

Pura Vida

Escape to one of the most relaxing places on earth. The Hermosa Vida Penthouse had everything that I could have wanted and needed for my first visit to beautiful Costa Rica. A quick and scenic ride from the airport and you are delivered to a secure well-appointed complex with two pools. The views from this place are stunning, especially the sunsets from the large, covered veranda or the private rooftop terrace. The Penthouse is spacious with soaring ceilings and tons of room to spread out. Stocked with everything you need including an extensive library, games, and fully equipped kitchen. We didn’t turn on the TV once while we were there. WIFI was reliable and a necessity. Supplies are easily acquired from a local walking distance grocery or a convenience store across the street. Take a short stroll to the beach and dine at lots of restaurants that serve local fish and amazing food and don’t forget the drinks. The best part about this place must be the people in Playa Hermosa. Service is great everywhere we went, and we felt very welcome even being in a small, not overly touristy town. The local crafts that are sold along the beachfront are well priced and the sellers are not pushy. We did wonderful excursions that were easily set up and transportation was no issue. Very well located and the penthouse was amazing. Truly got to experience Pura Vida with all the comforts of home. Cannot wait to go back.

Truly Spectacular

Our stay at Hermosa Vida was an amazing experience! The penthouse suite is impeccably decorated with local touches and a modern flair. We had everything you could ask for to enjoy our stay. The layout of the suite was perfect for both our families since we each had our own space that was separated by the living and dining room quarters. There are two master suites which made our stay very comfortable. What makes this place so unique is the following: the penthouse itself was beautiful and clean, the sunsets were stunning on the oversized patio, the swimming pools were gorgeous and very large, and the area is full of a variety of activities for the entire family. What makes the surroundings special is that it’s not touristy at all and I found it to be nicer than other beach towns in Guanacaste. The people are warm and friendly, the food choices were varied (fresh and delicious), and the culture of the area was lively on the weekends. Really it was an amazing experience to have all this in one location. We made memories to last a lifetime and plan on returning next year for our family trip. Our family was lucky to discover Playa Hermosa! I never write reviews, but this place is a gem…

Hermosa Vida Penthouse

Amazing! That is the best way to describe Hermosa Vida Penthouse. On my first trip to Costa Rica, with no preset expectations, I traveled with a group of 5 women to Playa Hermosa and stayed at Hermosa Vida Penthouse. I was blown away! The penthouse was incredible - so much space inside we could all be together or take a break. The house was set up for entertainment - from a fully stocked kitchen, laundry, large bedrooms, huge living space with cathedral ceilings with floor to ceiling windows, and lots of outdoor space. With a huge balcony and private rooftop terrace, we had lots of options for where to enjoy the incredible views and perfect weather for which Costa Rica is known. Hermosa Vida Penthouse was a perfect home base for our vacation - we could walk to the beach, lots of restaurants, grocery stores, and adventure centers - even a bodega across the street! For any excursions (or general transportation), the guard house arranged for a car service. The penthouse is in a private gated community with 2 pools and a fitness center. This rental truly had everything we wanted and then some! We will be back to CR and will definitely stay at Hermosa Vida Penthouse!

Lovely Penthouse

Brought my daughter and her friends for a sweet sixteen celebration. There weren’t a lot of tourists, and the beach was quiet and safe. The girls loved hanging out at Aquasport. We went ziplining and saw dolphins and whales on an afternoon cruise. The penthouse was roomy and a perfect place to chill out after a long day. Be sure to watch the sun go down from the rooftop patio...

Absolutely loved staying here!

The view of the ocean and mountains from the gorgeous, spacious patio is amazing. Not to mention the rooftop lounge! The location can’t be beat. Just a short walk to the beach where there are fun restaurants and bars. A convenience store is just across the street to grab anything you need. You never need to drive! The complex is great with beautiful pools and a gym. The penthouse is so clean and comfortable. The WiFi was excellent, and I had no trouble on a Webex call to the USA! I cannot wait to return to this stunning location.
