Construction was interrupted by the American Civil War, and finally completed around 1868 by the new owner, John Wilder. Before Hansford's death, as retold in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, the house had already been the scene of two deaths. In 1913, a previous owner tripped over the second floor banister, fractured his hip, and suffered a concussion, dying three days later. Sponge on sink was old and dirty, Should have been thrown out a long time ago. Couch is extremely uncomfortable and needs to be cleaned. Throw blanket is old, dirty and smells. Rug on first floor needs to be cleaned.

The host was lovely very responsive. The place was very sweet. You have to be comfortable going up a winding staircase which we didn’t mind. The bed is also up high so you have to get up a little stool, which was also fine and Parking was great as was the location, I would definitely go back

Holly’s communication was excellent, very informative about the accommodations as well as recommendations for food and transportation. The accommodations were comfortable for our needs. We needed to break up our long day of driving, so we decided to stop in Savannah since we hadn’t been there in years. This property was great! The location great for walking to the parks and historic areas. It was very clean and comfortable. And it accepted our small dog! Highly recommend. We would come back again and stay longer.

Enjoyed the charming carriage house, eclectic artsy decor and courtyard amenity. We love historic structures so this worked with updated functionality. Holly was a communicative host who made our stay engaging and informative. We liked parking ease on street with no fees.
