Grove House Schull, Harbour Views, walking distance to all amenities
Grove House has had a wonderful return to the market. July/August 2026 is fully booked. Why not visit Schull in the Autumn/Winter and stay at Grove House. Ideal for that reunion, luxury Hen or Corporate team building. Walk to the local pubs and restaurants or have one of our recommended chefs come in and cook for you after a day exploring the many walks, maybe some sea swimming in conjunction with a Sauna or visit the local leisure centre . Or simply just relax at home in spacious Grove House .
Unsurprisingly given its status and location, Grove House has attracted some very famous names from the Arts world in Irish history. George Bernard Shaw stayed here back in 1902, Jack (brother of William) Butler Yeats also stayed here, when he came painting to Schull in 1915 and Edith Somerville and her cousin Violet Martin, who gave us the rather hilarious Irish RM, were also guest in bye-gone days. Today four of the bedrooms bear their names, so you can stay in the Shaw, Yeats, Somerville or Ross room, depending on your preference for the Theatre, Art Galleries or comedic fiction. Views from the bedrooms at the front of the house, look over the harbour itself and you can wake up to the sounds local Church Bells, while watching sailing boats heading in and out of Schull’s timeless harbour from your bed, the perfect antidote to modern life.
It’s two well-proportioned living rooms, will enable multi-generational families to split their space so that each living room can fit the purpose needed. Just want to catch up over a glass of wine after a day of activities? Or would you rather a movie night in front of the TV with younger family members? Either way our guests can have the privacy or conviviality which they seek. Younger generations are also catered for, there is a separate games room in the back court yard for kids and teens with a table tennis/pool table, so that they can also have their own space and chill out, allowing adults to catch up undisturbed.
Two sizeable kitchens means cooking will never be a chore, both are well stocked. One used to be the kitchen for Grove House when it operated a restaurant, so our very culinary focused guests will have the space and inspiration they need to create their signature dishes, which can then be served in the grand dining room! Our sun room with its views over the sea, is the perfect place to while away an afternoon lost in a book with a nice glass of wine! Perhaps another guest can play the baby grand piano in the adjoining room. While in the summer time, you can breakfast and dine al fresco, directly overlooking Schull harbour.
Grove House is the prefect place to escape to, to wind down, reset the body clock, spend time with family and friends and take in those awe inspiring views. We look forward to welcoming our guests to this beautiful part of Ireland.
