「This lodging is a hidden gem away from Poas but close enough to get to the crater within 20 minutes. The views from the dining area were spectacular. The owner, Cindy, communicated clearly and often. She provided excellent directions to the property which is located high up on a hill in a residential area. The bedding was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend Serenity Ecolodge for a stay near Poas Volcano. I have nothing but good things to say about the...

「Easy airport shuttle but only comes on the hour which is difficult to line up with airline arrival sometimes. Nice modern hotel with great breakfast」

「Clean room. Beautiful property. Friendly staff. Safe, well lit space to park your car. Note: the property must be in the flight path and is beside a very busy, noisy street but we heard nothing that kept us awake. Conveniently located very close to the San Jose airport」

Nothing fancy but very tasty and well cooked, good value for money. 25 mins from airport (12km), easy drive just a little traffic to consider」

「We stayed at the Berlin on our way back to Canada. Spotless room. Really lovely, helpful staff. She booked us an airport taxi for very early the next morning. They were up when we were leaving at 5 am and gave us coffee and a take-out breakfast. We will stay there on our next visit.」

「I chose this hotel in part because of the free shuttle and also because it had a restaurant on site. The shuttle drivers were wonderful - including one who drove out of his way to bring us to our rental car company. The restaurant was excellent and our stay came with a free breakfast, which was delicious (not your average crappy continental breakfast like you get at some hotel chains). The room we had was spacious but didn’t really have enough furniture to fill it, but given that we were only...
