The "recently refurbished" 3 bedroom Cendana Villa offered the WOW factor on arrival. However, this is where the WOW factor stopped. Firstly, this property is definitely not 5 star - it is more 4 star. The overall rating of this hotel would have been higher except we feel the overall average needs to be significantly lower.
The layout of the villa is fantastic however there are many flaws in practicality, maintenance and finishings. There are still several line markings all over the house, noticeably large cracks in mirrors, leaking air conditioning, smelly drains, water stains in bathrooms, no TV reception and disgustingly GREY (should be white), threading towels.
Service was inconsistent and lacking for the best part. The passing on of information between butlers rarely occurred and full turn down was occasional. These concerns were raised with the low level english speaking "manager" who did little to better our stay. This property is 1 of 30 villas that are managed by the same company who clearly don't take corrective action. Prior to arrival, Serene were emailed to make sure everything was in perfect working order. However, on complaint, the manager stated that the TV reception issue is a current "project" at Serene. (i.e not perfect!) He blamed the TV providers when next door had perfect reception. The pool was large and sufficient if not a little too hot and over chlorinated.
Overall, won't stay again but good value for 3 couples looking for an OK experience.
