Good basic hotel/hostel
Basic but clean rooms, with everything you need for a stay of a few nights. Great location for public transport and you can walk to all of Seogwipo city centre easily. 1-minute walk to many restaurants and 5 minutes to shops. Lovely staff who had great English.

Good budget option
Room is nice and clean. Location is close to public transport and local attractions. only some of the staff speaks English. Parking is available as well. The common area has pool table and can be used as a restaurant but I'm not sure if is it active.

Hotel looks dated but has the all basic amenities. Kettle, TV, clean sheets, hair dryer, shampoo in a large bottle, shower foam in a large bottle, soap and 4 small towels in the room. Was able to get more towels from the reception when I needed them. The reception will try to help with your requests, some of them speak rather good english/chinese. How much information you would get depends on who is at the counter. The hotel is at a turn from a street full of restaurants. Convenience marts are aplenty with one every couple of turns. About 5mins walk to the Segwipo Olle traditional market which is a must visit for local food!

Low water pressure in 5th floor, otherwise good.
Very bad water pressure in the shower, otherwise as expected. Noise insulation to hallway is not so good, but not that noticeable when AC is on. Cheap rooms have no view (looked into the neighboring wall). Has a kitchen and a great dimly lit lounge area with music and pool game. Stayed 3 nights.

The hotel is so nice. It is near the market, restaurants and bus stops. The guy at the reception is so nice and helpful and can communicate in english clearly. He helped us a lot by teaching us which bus number to take when we plan to go somewhere. This hotel is too good for such a low price I would highly recommend it.

The front desk staff was really friendly to me and helpful, and I enjoyed how clean the rooms were. I felt comfortable sleeping there because of the added amenities, the numerous cleaning staff I saw, and the curtains installed for each bed. Easily the best hostel I've ever stayed in, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay in one of the community rooms again. I even made friends!

Great value, service, and location
We were able to come by before the check in time and leave our luggage in the lobby while we went back out to explore the nearby area. They had 2 bikes available to borrow at no cost, so we took them to check out the waterfalls and the lava rock formations while waiting to check in. When we returned, the receptionist told us that they had upgraded us to their biggest room. The room itself was a bit outdated and could use new lighting and wallpaper, but for the price we paid, it was excellent value. There is also a public lounge area next to the lobby with tons of comic books (in Korean), a pool table, foosball table, and music instruments.

It was a very convenient location in Seogwipo as it was just minutes away from the bus stops, food street (with amazing black pork BBQ and grilled cutlass fish), Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market, etc. The staff were friendly and helpful, as long as you're willing to ask them, they can direct you to yummy food nearby and direct you to the bus stop with direct bus to the airport! There are also two lounges next to the lobby one is open 24 hours with a small kitchen and water dispenser, while the other is a games area with music, Foosball table and pool table opened till midnight. They provide free coffee and water at the latter. What could be improved would be the bathroom as water has to flow out to be drained near the toilet bowl and this causes the whole bathroom to get wet, which is not a great feeling when the weather is cold. Overall, thank you Hotel Gaon J Stay team for giving us a memorable time! You guys are awesome!

Cheap room rates; friendly staff; comfortable common areas at L1 to relax and get free coffee. Small room; no wifi in room; no cleaning unless requested at counter (no phone in room). Overall, worth it only for the cheap rates.

There're very limited parking in the basement of the Hotel. We were given a map showing two public parking "near" the hotel. One is open parking with rocky road free for the whole day, the other one is multi-storey parking which is free from 6pm - 9am only. We booked a Triple Room. The WiFi is ok, room size is ok. However, please be careful when you use the bathroom, always wear the slippers provided. My younger sister slipped and fell in the bathroom as it's very slippery. Her wound is so deep that it wouldn't stop bleeding for 1 day! The food street near the hotel is very quiet. Big plus point of the hotel is that it only takes 3 mins to walk to the Seogwipo Maeil Olleh market. It's open till about 9pm and have stalls selling good food like garlic fried chicken, etc.

It was a nice hotel but quite small. It has a play area at the lobby and the kitchen was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful, he showed us where are the nearest place to go to at night.

Great location! If you’re taking public transportation, this hotel is near bus lines that takes you to major tourist attractions. The hotel itself is really clean and the rooms were quiet. The bathroom was a decent size with hot and cold water working really well. The front desk lady (she’s there during the day) was so friendly and helpful. She fluent in English and can direct you to places you want to see. She gave us tips and places that we didn’t know of and how to get there. Lots of restaurants, convienient stores and shops in walking distance. We only stayed one night but I would stay there again in the near future.

The male dorm is in a coffeeshop sort of place on ground floor and you can hear music till around 23. The pods are very comfy and private, room is spacious and both an AC and an air purifier are provided. They also give towels, bikes, coffee and water for free. The kitchen is only a microwave. Great stay! From airport with bus 181/182 is only a 5-10 min walk.

Clean n spacious room. Great assistance from the General Manager Mr Han whom advise us the local bus number and even wrote the bus stop name in Korean Wording, so we can show to the bus driver. This hotel location consider in the middle of 2 main bus stop - Jungang Rotary (Airport Limousin 181) & New Kyungnam Tourist Hotel (Airport Limousin 600). Each bus stop takes u about 10mins walk to the hotel. Easy to find eating place nearby.

Hotel Tong, not bad
My wife and I were staying in Seogipo to climb Hallasan. This hotel is near the bus stops, easy to find, and by a grocery store as well as many awesome restaurants. It's not a special place, but it works!

this is a nice hotel
The hotel very clean and quiet. We are 4 persons,we has a big room & toilet. The staff very nice,help us to order fried chicken to hotel.

Nice hotel which near to most of the attraction
Had two night stayed in this hotel. Everything is good but just wish to have them to revise the direction to the hotel. There is short cut and easy way to go after alight from the airport bus.

Close to restaurants
It's right next to the food street, so it makes finding food easy. One drawback would be the late check-in time at 3pm and lack of flexibility/ intention to try advance it slightly.
