Let’s start with the area in which the home is located: it’s scary and it doesn’t look safe at all. not to mention that there is no phone or internet signal at all at least 6 minutes out of the property.So if the internet is out and you need to make a non WiFi phone call, simply forget about it. When we arrived at the home it was absolutely freezing as it was 7 degrees that night.
We turned on the mini split units on to the maximum heat and those barely heat anything up as the home is one open space upstairs and pretty much the same downstairs so they were not enough to keep the place warm.We turned the hot shower on that night to give our kids a bath and not soon after that the water was gone and we were unable to get water AT ALL!The very next morning power goes out, house is freezing, there’s no way for us to get in touch with anyone unless we leave and there’s still no water to do anything!The stairs to go upstairs is very dangerous with no railings, and the railings on the second floor are so loose that I didn’t allow the kids to go upstairs for fear of them grabbing on to it and falling. Once the power came back ,We had finally had enough of the house, so we contacted Rachel to let her know about the issues and that we were going elsewhere.She made things even worse with her terrible customer service. she wanted us to leave the house to call her so she could explain to us how to turn the gas heaters on. Why didn’t she have those ready to go for us from the beginning?Then she tell us that she forgot to tell us to leave the water dripping so pipes wouldn’t freeze but she also mentioned she was there the previous day earlier in the day so why didn’t she make sure the water was dripping prior to our arrival so pipes wouldn’t freeze?Two hours and some change after telling her that we were leaving and that her property just wasn’t going to work for our family, she shows up on the property and tries to get the gas heaters working.So there we are, attempting to have a good Christmas vacation ( it was December 24th) and Rachel is trying to fix the water and heating situation when it could have been avoided.Also, as soon as she arrived, before even checking on anything, she says “ if i can fix those issues I can’t return your money even if you decided to leave because those are the rules but at no point she tried to make it up to us due to the inconvenience SHE caused. She doesn’t care about her guests being comfortable or satisfied. Glad we left!
