This was our first Vrbo so we were nervous, but the venue was beautiful and clean and everything we needed. We were attending a wedding nearby so wanted something convenient but could house us. It did not disappoint. We took several walks to the creek and enjoyed being able to spend time together but also have our separate spaces. Our phones didn’t have service there but the WiFi was excellent and the owner responded in a reasonable time with a couple questions we had.

Wonderful little cabin in the woods
This house is just awesome. The owner built it herself and you can find little personalization throughout. There are leaves pressed into the foundation slab and a dog paw print imprinted on the kitchen floor! Unfortunately, we were booked in after the "snowpocalypse" so we didn't get out to do a lot of the things we wanted. The house is convenient for getting into Chattanooga and all its attractions. We are already planning a return trip for the summer so we can enjoy the tranquility on the decks or around the fire pit. However, if you are booking here you should plan on bringing in drinking water as the water on the property has a lot of iron in it. I don’t think it's unsafe but it's rather a case of aesthetiscs. The host was very responsive, replying to any messages right away. There were also very clear instructions posted in the house and emailed by the host. We can't wait to get back!

Nice comfy place no as was expected after the instructions and message that we received after. No neighbors which we love it. Every think is far 45 minutes is the closest store. After all with only use as sleep and we cook only one meal.

The property was not in good shape. The knobs were missing on the stove, there was a rock holding up a chair with a missing leg. The water in the tub was dark red and the faucet would not turn off. We had to move out of property at 1:00 on Thanksgiving day. It cost us and extra $180 to rent a last minute home. If you don’t have an SUV you will tear up your car on the lane to the property. Very rough!!!

The simple fact is you had to leave because you broke the upstairs shower faucet and the water would not turn off. I don't know how long the water ran but you called and I had my cleaning lady come out and shut it off because you refused to work with me. I had to have a plumber replace all the hardware. You actually cost me $ 275 in parts and labor and $ 75 for my cleaning lady to make an extra trip on Thanksgiving. Things happen and it would have been nice if you could have worked with me instead of leaving a negative reivew. We as properly owners do the very best we can, 90 % of the our problems we have are caused by our guests, not unlike you. We work hard to deliver the very best experience, so be kind and work with us. ~Rachel

Secluded Getaway
This is a nice, secluded property if you are looking for a quiet getaway. The house doesn't offer many modern amenities, but has two great decks on the second floor and two fire pits nearby.

Quiet & secluded
Very quiet and cozy house. The property owner was very quick to respond to any of my questions. Only 30-40 minute drive to downtown Chattanooga. The beds and living room sofa were comfortable. The long driveway in the house was pretty bumpy. Kids enjoyed running around and exploring farm animals in nearby lot.

Beautiful cabin - awesome fire pit! I had gotten the idea from the listing that there was a river on the actual property but it was down the road on a *double yellow* road with lots of people and trash and beer. I had rented the place thinking we’d have privacy so the river was a no-go. Also though the place has a lot of acreage there was a mill of sorts (something industrial) about a 30 second walk away that was working at 6 am Saturday!

Chattanooga Trip
It was a nice secluded area to stay with my wife and dog. I love the old school A frame design upstairs. Easy drive to the grocery store and close to Chattanooga. I would personally suggest a truck or suv to get down the driveway and not a low sitting car. Certain patches had big rocks and it was bumpy. Thankfully I drove my truck on this trip.

Clean, beautiful property! Be aware that in the dry summer months the creek may be dry but there is a river to play in within a 10 min walk! Owner was easy to mesage with, the cabin is well stocked with cooking supplies and we def reccomend taking advantage if the grill instead of eating out! Our kids and dogs all had a great time adventuring in the woods def would stay here again!

If you want the world to disappear
Wrapped in trees. Each night a new little critter visiting, every morning deer in the front yard. The sounds of nature are deep in this very secluded home. Child and adults very happy with everything!

Great place unfortunate post stay communication
Loved the cabin. Unfortunately at check out we were informed there was some type of spots on the floor ( uncertain it was caused by us). Pictures were provided, and we were charged $50 for something that seemingly would take 10 minutes to clean. I Requested an itemization for the $50, but it was not provided. At this point i have not read her review of me, but i was kind, tried to resolve and come to an agreement and reasonsbly requested to see justification for such a large cleaning bill. Upon check out i ensured the cabin was in good order, removed trash, swept and even ran a load of towels we used (washed, dryed and folded). If you stay here, be wary that you may end up paying an extra $50 as they are either paying the most expensive cleaning person in the world, or are bilking their customers for extra money through additional cleaning charges.

There was dried dog feces in multiple placevon the food in. It looked like someone had walked in it and smeared it in different places. We take cleaning very seriously. My cleaning lady had hand scrap and scrub to remove it. Spots here and there are ok,but we will change extra for this type of clean.

Quiet but…..
The house was easy to find, easy to enjoy but not in good shape. The gutters are full of foliage and a portion has pulled off the house. Out back there where rusted metal school lockers full of stuff, including a jar of fermented something all brown. One of the main reasons I rented this place was because I read in the description that this place had a queen bed upstairs and a queen bed downstairs. See, my boys are big men and a queen bed is comfortable for them, instead we had 2 full size beds. No curtains in the upstairs. No hand railings which left the stairs open to falls off the side. This was a huge stress factor EVERY TIME MY 3 YEAR OLD GRANDSON went up and down them. The railing up stairs was loose and wobbly, both of these created a huge safety issue. She did mention the rusty water but blamed it on the well. But upon further investigation by NOT using the hot water we noticed that the rust was ONLY present in the hot water which points to a bad hot water heater and my son, being an HVAC guy, said that was the case. Topping the weekend off was when I received a text that the landlord was coming by to mow early in the morning. See I rented it for 4 days, 4 pm check in on Thursday and 11 am check out on Monday but she decided to come mow mid afternoon on Sunday while my family, with a new baby, and I where enjoying our time that I paid for. They all went back in because mowing stirs the bugs. The house has potential

We have 2 queen size bed one upstairs and one down, im not sure what you meant about there being full size beds. There are no full size beds in this house. Yes we do need to do some work on the cabin. We have been booked solid so it impossible to do any work in the few day or no day between guest. That is why i had to come out an mow while you were there. I gave you a heads up, If you would have given me a different time i would have come then. Thank you for your review.

Great Rustic Stay
If you’re looking for a five star hotel experience, this isn’t for you. This is a unique home in the woods. The driveway path is rough, but we took it slow in a minivan and it was fine. The land around the cabin is very cool - trails, and a great creek for the kids. You’ve got to keep an eye on the littles - as mentioned in other reviews, there is no handrail on the stairs, and we had a little tiny scorpion - but let’s be real, we were invading his woods, not the other way around. All in all, great stay, cool location.

We went chasing waterfalls!
Secluded, beautiful, relaxing little gem! This place is smack dab 15-30 mins from the best hikes/waterfalls in TN. Grundy Forest/Fiery Grizzard was great for our labs and us hiking with multiple waterfalls. Foster falls is 10 minutes away. The beautiful country roads to get there are amazing to witness. The driveway is all natural, which we loved, but always take our truck when we travel to explore. Everything and more we could expect 19 acres, seclusion, with creek around the property to be! We came up from south Alabama with some friends to take our 2 boys to the Chattanooga Aquarium. This property was perfect for us. The beds were comfortable and the view was pretty. Loved hearing the little creek.

A hidden gem!
It can be a bit tricky trying to get to the property in the dark, so I would suggest getting there as close to check in time as possible. It is well worth the effort it takes to get there! The property has obviously been well loved over the years. It’s cozy and well equipped for a weekend trip. Standing on the deck and listening to the sound of the creek makes you feel like you’re the only person in the world and your troubles are 1000 miles away. Truly a magical place. We’re already planning our next trip back.

Great little cabin in the woods
My friends and I were looking for a central place to meet. We are musicians and wanted to do a songwriting retreat. This place was perfect. It’s not too far from civilization, but far away enough we could play without fear of disturbing the neighbors. It would be a good place to do some hiking.

Do yourself and your sanity a favor and find another property to stay at.
Let’s start with the area in which the home is located: it’s scary and it doesn’t look safe at all. not to mention that there is no phone or internet signal at all at least 6 minutes out of the property.So if the internet is out and you need to make a non WiFi phone call, simply forget about it. When we arrived at the home it was absolutely freezing as it was 7 degrees that night. We turned on the mini split units on to the maximum heat and those barely heat anything up as the home is one open space upstairs and pretty much the same downstairs so they were not enough to keep the place warm.We turned the hot shower on that night to give our kids a bath and not soon after that the water was gone and we were unable to get water AT ALL!The very next morning power goes out, house is freezing, there’s no way for us to get in touch with anyone unless we leave and there’s still no water to do anything!The stairs to go upstairs is very dangerous with no railings, and the railings on the second floor are so loose that I didn’t allow the kids to go upstairs for fear of them grabbing on to it and falling. Once the power came back ,We had finally had enough of the house, so we contacted Rachel to let her know about the issues and that we were going elsewhere.She made things even worse with her terrible customer service. she wanted us to leave the house to call her so she could explain to us how to turn the gas heaters on. Why didn’t she have those ready to go for us from the beginning?Then she tell us that she forgot to tell us to leave the water dripping so pipes wouldn’t freeze but she also mentioned she was there the previous day earlier in the day so why didn’t she make sure the water was dripping prior to our arrival so pipes wouldn’t freeze?Two hours and some change after telling her that we were leaving and that her property just wasn’t going to work for our family, she shows up on the property and tries to get the gas heaters working.So there we are, attempting to have a good Christmas vacation ( it was December 24th) and Rachel is trying to fix the water and heating situation when it could have been avoided.Also, as soon as she arrived, before even checking on anything, she says “ if i can fix those issues I can’t return your money even if you decided to leave because those are the rules but at no point she tried to make it up to us due to the inconvenience SHE caused. She doesn’t care about her guests being comfortable or satisfied. Glad we left!

As a rental own there is no way to predict the weather. The electricity to the heater in the well house shut off and the water pipes froze .the reason for the power going off was due to rolling blackouts by the power company. Under normal circumstances you would have been able to use Wi-Fi calling no matter what service you had. And when you finally called me I was there and had everything fixed within 2 hours. I didn't even know you wanted to leave. I was very vexed when you just left. We have a back-up gas heater and I could have walk you through step by step to get it started. Things happen out or our control. I try my best to be available when things go wrong, all it take is a little patience and we will get thing fixed

Secluded Sequatchie Cabin!
We loved our stay here and hope to stay again! Very charming! Very private/secluded! Great for dark sky. No other visible houses, etc. Not for everyone probably. Very long driveway, is passable, but legitimately rough… 4x4 not required, but not for Corvettes.

Gorgeous Fall Getaway
We stayed here to be close to the venue of a friend’s wedding, and it was the perfect time of year to visit! The cabin is charming and the a-frame windows make for a stunning view of the colored leaves to wake up to. The house was clean and the property owner messaged us a list of their favorite places to visit around the area. We had a lovely stay and would love to come back to stay here again in the future!

Beautiful weekend getaway
This house was perfect for our weekend getaway. Plenty of room and in a perfect secluded, yet not faraway from places location. The beds were very comfortable. The only thing I would warn about would be the drive way. It was not a problem for us because we were in a truck but it is a bit bumpy. Overall the house was clean and just what we were looking for. I would definitely stay again!

So, hey everyone whining about the little things like a few bumps in the road or some bugs...you're really missing the point here. This was a beautiful hand built cabin with loads of charm in the deep heart of Chattanooga country. It was rustic, it was private, and there was something a little magical about it. If you aren't into the beautiful natural seclusion of this part of Tennessee, and can't handle anything less than the Ritz Carlton...then please spare everyone the bore of reading your less than enthusiastic review...because this place was awesome! A little more information about the driveway conditions and the phone service more helpful
Our experience was great. We were able to contend with small problems. Could use a covered area outside for people who smoke in rainy weather. But we made do. No phone service was a surprise but we managed with Wi-Fi. The cabin was very nice and clean and our experience was over all very nice. We thank the host for opening up their cabin to us. But could use some driveway work.

Nice A-frame cabin in the woods with charm and potential. The owner built it themselves and has lots of little pleasant details. Needs some love with the landscaping and amenities. Make sure to bring any cleaning supplies needed and towels. We enjoyed the seclusion and fire pits. We were disappointed that the creek was dried up, but the swimming hole was fun.

The process for renting the property was very straight forward. No hidden fees or add-ons. The property is located in a remote place off a rural road. The drive way to the property needs some TLC, part of the road is covered with sizable rocks that if you are not careful, can damage the tires or alignment or front end. GO SLOW and you will have no issues. The water supply has iron so I would not drink nor wash white clothes in the washer. The grass/weeds appeared to be cut prior to renting the property. Everything worked except the two ceiling fans in the kitchen and living room but that was not a problem. There is plenty of linen and kitchen supplies available. The property owner does not dispose of your trash so beware that you will have to go about 1.5 miles down the road to drop off. Again, not an issue, just plan to drop off prior to loading up prior to leaving. There is a swimming hole once you leave the property down the road. Cool place but many locals tie it up. Well known to locals.

We really enjoyed our stay and Rachel was a great host, but I also spent a lot of time reading through reviews to manage my expectations. The cabin is beautiful and we enjoyed seeing Rachel's handiwork, especially the fire pit, but our biggest challenge was probably with things not mentioned in the description (even though they were later communicated). For example, once we made the reservation, we were told that there would be no cell service. The wifi worked great so we were still able to communicate in some ways, but this would have just been good to know in advance as many of us needed to check in on our families. The other issue is that there is no longer a pull-out couch. Once we asked, I was told about some air mattresses, but again, would have been good to know in advance. The weather was nice so we enjoyed spending time out on the patios and exploring nearby hikes, but if the weather had been bad, it wouldn't have been incredibly cozy for the 6 of us to sit around and visit. My biggest suggestion would be to add an exterior locked trash can so that we could put our trash somewhere and then take it all to the dump upon departure (which does not open until 1pm on Sundays fyi).
