House was very well equipped and that back deck was awesome! The grill needs to get cleaned because it clearly hasn’t in a while and all the remnant grease caught fire and was VERY dangerous

Great outdoor space

The best thing about this house is the extensive outdoor space, both developed and undeveloped. The inside has a lot of odd angles and is smaller than it appears on the outside. The kitchen is very usable and fully stocked.

Peaceful Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed this house in the woods. The tranquility was unparallelled. The view into the forest in the morning light was most spectacular. During our stay, we saw two coyotes, a bunch of elk, and during a walk a bald eagle flew overhead. At night, we cozied up in the comfortable house and really liked the soft blankets in each room.

Beautiful location lacking supplies and cleanliness

We love BBR and the location is amazing. The outdoor space and all the activity options were great. The house is unusual which we could enjoy except the carpet was in need of replacing or cleaning. Some outlets in downstairs bedroom not working. Crumbs and coffee grounds on countertops and floor. Many supplies missing. We enjoyed BBR but hoped to feel more comfortable in the house.

This is an amazing property with great decks, outdoor games and a very unique design. We were there for a stretch of weather with temperatures around 100 several days in a row and the air conditioning worked well, thankfully. We would love to stay there again when we could be on the beautiful wrap around decking way more than we could, eat outside etc it was just too hot to truly enjoy the setting. We did, however see a group of elk feeding on one side, bunnies and heard lots of birds. The furniture is comfortable, the house is equipped well even though the kitchen is small. I recommend this house for adults or older kids. It was challenging with toddlers and a four year old.

Beautiful spot

This house is beautiful! The views from every single room are awesome, including partial views of Black Butte itself. Beds were very comfy. Deck wraps almost all the way around the house so you can follow the sun all day long and plenty of chairs/tables. Feedback for the managers would be that the front door is sticky and tricky. It opens out (not in like most entry doors) and catches quite a bit at the bottom. Also, the internet password I was given was wrong by one letter but I was able to guess the correct one. I would stay here again, but not with children as the open concept/lack of curtains on almost all windows is a bit challenging.

Had some issues

Beware of $9 per person, per day fee charged by Black Butte Ranch "to access recreational facilities". Nothing was said on the VRBO website about this mandatory charge and we only received an email from Vacasa 7 days before check-in that there was one -- past the window to cancel...... One would think that you would pay the fees as you used the facilities, not to get in the gate. There were 7 of us our in party and 4 went swimming twice for an hour each time. Due the math, that is $252.00 for use of the pool for 2 hours. House needs a deep cleaning. I cleaned the burnt food off glass stove top. We vacuumed the corn chips off the living room floor. Several recessed lights burnt out. Notified Vacasa but no one appeared to replace. Front door is awkward and quirky to open and close. You never really are sure it is closed and locked.

Decks were simply amazing. The furnishings and beds were sub-par. Need to have washer / dryer -- shocked to find out upon arrival there wasn't any.

Peaceful end of cultasac retreat

Easy to get to, close walk to horse stables and store about equal distance to the closest pool. House wasn't overly large but in black butte you don't need indoor space. Get outside on the expansive deck with plenty of seating options. Has green grass for volleyball or yard games. We enjoyed everything about this house on our short weekend getaway. Wood definitely recommended and we would love to come again.

Sun-filled reading alcove & extensive decking

Well located in the Black Butte community amongst trees and wildlife. Sun-filled reading alcove was a favorite spot for morning coffee. Extensive decking with comfy seating beckoned. Residence is well equipped for a delightful stay. A washer/dryer would be a nice addition. A wrong entry code necessitated a call to Vacasa who provided the correct code within minutes. Also needed to call for wi-fi passcode with equal success.

Enjoyable and clean

Overall, comfortable and clean. I made the mistake of assuming there was a washer and dryer (looking back it was not listed as an amenity) but I’ve never stayed in a VRBO where those weren’t provided. This house has a wonderful outdoor space! Black Butte Ranch is absolutely beautiful with something for everyone to do.

Black Butte Home

We rented this home for our annual "girls weekend". There were 4 of us all together. We each had our own bed and enjoyed the quiet of the location of the home. The kitchen was well equipped as we made breakfast and a few dinners. It was nice to sleep with the windows open when the smoke cleared. We rode bikes around the property, had an amazing dinner at the Lodge restaurant and enjoyed some pool time. I'd definitely book this property again for a return stay.

Quiet forest refuge

This house is covered in large windows letting in the forest outside. Plentiful outdoor decking and seating make this a true indoor/outdoor experience. At the edge of the national forest, this home is so quiet. Deer, bunnies and elk all wander through. The house is comfortable and everything we needed was available. The night sky was gorgeous and full of stars. The BBR pools and amenities don’t disappoint. Will definitely stay again.

Amazing Vacation. Can't Wait to Return.

The entire home was spotless, comfortable, and exactly what we were looking for. The view from the back of the house is pure forest and you feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere. We can't wait to return!

Comfortable, warm, peaceful

We loved how tucked away in the woods this house is. One day we looked out and saw a coyote trot across the driveway, then heard wolf howls in the forest. Later we saw a mother and baby deer. Also a raccoon on the golf course. We hiked every day and never turned on the TV. The kitchen is small but had everything we needed, though we did bring our own crockpot.

Surrounded by the forest.

The best feature of Architect's Masterpiece is the large windows that give views of the Ponderosa pines that surround the house. While the floor plan is somewhat bizarre--there isn't a right angle anywhere to be found--the house has everything you would need for a quiet and peaceful vacation.
