Something for everyone. Yet Newburyport town is equally enticing, with its distinctive shops, art galleries, maritime history, varied architecture, and welcoming culture. William Lloyd Garrison was a fierce abolitionist who understood the morally bankrupt enslavement of Black Americans had to end. His activism included publishing “The Liberator” — a tabloid-sized newspaper reporting all activity that would galvanize both Northerners & some Southerners to understand that slavery as an institution must end in the United States, whatever the cost — including four years of Civil War. Goals also included keeping the North and South united together as one nation for mutual benefits, and aiding the Underground Railroad. "

"My wife and had a great couple of days , it was our 1st Inn experience and it did not dissapoint. Caitlin the inn keeper was super friendly and our room was nice and clean. The Clark Currier Inn has set the standard and the bar is high , also the continental breakfast was great."

"I traveled with my three dear friends for a girls only weekend after a 10 year hiatus. We could not say more about how the fabulous location. Virtually everything we did was within walking distance. The weather cooperated, so we were able to take advantage of the great deck a few times. Our hosts were quick to respond with any of our questions. We had some trouble getting the TV to work. We just never could get connected to the wifi. Fortunately with some luck and tenacity, we were able to get some channels . The only suggestions I would have...a binder available to help you figure out the quirks of the home, like the tv so you don't have to keep bothering the property owners and perhaps a different seating configuration in the living room for tv viewing since it was a bit awkward for some of the folks. Steve and Kristin are excellent hosts!"
