“Location”

“Nice place all around”

“Room was clean. The towels were replaced daily and room was cleaned daily as well. The bed sheets were not changed. However they would change upon request. Breakfast was good and staff was very helpful and refilled breakfast food as needed. The hotel is next to a gas station. I would stay here again as it is close to the main street and one can walk to the restaurants in town.”

“Noisy up stairs”

“Two things I wish I realized before booking. 1. This property is NOT connected to the same building as the pool or the breakfast. You need to walk outside. 2. The breakfast was a Jimmy Deans microwave sandwich, cereal with carafe milk, juice, and a prepackaged Danish pastry. We didn't have hot water day one but the facility fixed that by end of day. The room was nice and clean. We had a full kitchen with basic cookware, living room and two bedrooms. The pool was big, clean, and there were a……

“Room clean but very small. Breakfast was ok. We were riding the train in the morning so location was good. Easy walk into town to eat.”

“We got there just as everything was opening. The lodge is clean , comfortable and helpful in showing us where the outside camp kitchen was in order to grill steaks. Sleeping was a little challenging as a bus full of teenagers pulled up and basically ran up and down the halls and stairs all night. Kids will be kids. I was just wondering where are the adults. It was kinda rude and inconsiderate”

“The front desk person was so friendly, polite. Answered all my questions. The room was dirty, the bathroom mirror was filthy. I thought it may be stained so I grabbed a tissue to wipe it and the dirt came off. The front staff was so kind saying there was breakfast and to please help myself but I could not eat the were knowing how dirty the bathroom was. ”

“AC was not working and we switched to a room with 2 queen beds (vs the King bed). Staff was generally helpful.”

“The property is quaint and beautiful. Powder House is close to Keystone to go into town and walk the shops and restaurants, yet just far enough out to be quiet and relaxing. The staff was the best part of our stay. They were all very friendly and helpful, very knowledgeable about the property and area, and made us feel like old friends. The restaurant was amazing! We had one dinner and one breakfast while we stayed, both meals were the best we ate in the area while there. The one thing……

“Absolutely will be back. I had a great stay, felt safe, and the staff were all very friendly. The s’mores were also a great finishing touch to a great night ”

“Confusing parking, not easy to re-lock door. Nasty seasonal large bugs. Dead bugs in room. Expensive for what we got but popular area. But it was quiet and conveniently located.”

“The hotel is very old and run down. 2 floors did not have a working ice machine. The shower in the tub did not work properly or drain properly.”

“This motel is located very close to the Mount Rushmore National Monument, 10 minutes drive only. Staffs are very friendly.”
