「Heron Dance cottage was a quiet and peaceful getaway. In a great location, this cottage was well outfitted for preparing meals, contained comfortable furniture and the bed was firm. The views out to the Lake were exceptional. The landing and the way down to the Lake made for easy swimming. Jan was friendly and approachable. The neighborhood roads facilitated daily walks. 「This is a perfect getaway! The setting is absolutely serene and stunning. The cottage is nestled on a rock overlooking the lake, and is very private. A winding and scenic path takes you down to a sandy beach, in a beautiful little cove. The cottage itself is well supplied and very comfortable! It has a rustic charm to it. The large screened in porch was a great place to spend time as a family. This was an actually very relaxing vacation!」

「Beds were comfortable and the 3 season porch was a great place to unwind. We enjoyed the view of the water from the house. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes. At night we could hear tree frogs calling on the other side of the road, which was fun. There's also a park nearby with walking trails, and a grocery store close by. Zachary's Pizza is also close and we had an excellent pizza there. It was about 20 minutes to downtown Burlington. A very relaxing place to stay, so glad we found it!」

「This was an amazing spot for our extended family of 11, ranging in age from 10 to 80. The house, and exterior decks/patios, was spacious enough so that you could find a place to yourself whenever you wanted. The home is beautiful and the loft area and open kitchen/living/dining was lovely. But without a doubt the lakefront areas were the highlight of the property. 「Our second stay at Baxter's Hideaway was just as wonderful as the first. Albert is very responsive. The property very clean and well-equipped. The proximity to the bike trail is great. With beautiful weather we meandered along Church Street Marketplace in Burlington each night (highly recommend!). If you want to eat dinner in Burlington we recommend making reservations well in advance. We will definitely return again next fall!」

「Great location! Very helpful and friendly island staff! Wonderful screened-in front porch overlooking the lake. Nice beach with access to different water crafts. As the listing indicates, there is no A/C (and also no ceiling fans) - the property manager did bring in box fans after we asked. The house is older but clean. It doesn’t have a lot of the usual amenities and wasn’t as comfortable as other places we’ve been, but our family had fun.」

「We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite bad weather all week. The property is as described. The view was lovely and we appreciated how quiet the neighborhood was. We cooked most of our meals. The kitchen was well-stocked in terms of dishes, cutlery, pots & pans. The only potential issue is that the stairs to the 2nd floor bedrooms are very steep, as others have noted, and our dog wasn’t able to climb them. Other than that, the place was very comfortable and it was great to get away.」

「Overall Cozy Cottage was nice. Bedroom is a little tight and is only a full size bed. Flooring could use a good updating. Location was great, very quiet and nice having a water view. If you want groceries, you must shop in Burlington, as Grand Isle does not have an official grocery store. Cottage is tucked away from traffic which is nice. There is so much to enjoy in this area.」

「We rented this house for a short visit for the 2024 solar eclipse. Had a great view of the sun over Lake Champlain! The house was perfect for my wife and me with our 20 month old toddler - just needed a baby gate to keep her from dashing up to the loft.」

「Property was not ready at check in. Fridge full, dirty linens, dirty towels and house not clean. Called property mgr and housekeeping came within a half an hour. Also no heat which was resolved by 7:30. Loose bar and dinning room chairs and back door does not latch. Got locked out day before departure. Vermont is a very welcoming state. This property not so much. The rest of the stay was good. VACASA must be understaffed...」
