Beautiful property
The house and surrounding were very nice. Exactly as described and had some nice touches left by the management company- extra soap, laundry pods, doggie poop bags. The only concerns were that the keypad on the door was temperamental and didn’t work our entire visit (thankfully there was a key in a lockbox so we could get inside when it was cold and raining) and there were several dishes put away dirty. Overall it was a great property that we hope to return to in warmer weather and enjoy the lake

WONDERFUL HOME ON CHINA LAKE
The property is beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. We had so much fun using the kayaks provided and fishing in the lake, which was abundant with many types of fish . My husband caught 16!!! It was so lovely to listen to the sound of the 2 loons, that were always hanging around the cove, and watching the eagles and ospreys fly nearby.... it was a slice of heaven. If I have one comment.... it is difficult to get the Kayaks in the lake.... the hill is very steep and there is no dock ... so, we got wet.... and fell in order to get in .... none the less we enjoyed it.... i hope the next time we visit that there will be a better way to get in and out of the lake...

Beautiful, Serene Location
This is a great house in a beautiful setting on the lake. We were there to attend a family memorial service and it made a great place that we could all stay together and enjoy meals together without having to be at a restaurant. We had a snowstorm during our stay and the driveway was plowed a few times throughout the day. The gorgeous sunrises on the lake were icing on the cake. The only suggestion we have is to put some blinds or blackout curtains on the windows in the bedrooms. (There are only sheer curtains.) The early morning sun shines right in. No way to sleep in. At least we had a great sunrise to enjoy.

Good property, bad communication
The property itself was nice. Our first day in we had extreme difficulty getting past the door lock. Once inside, we were met with ants! We immediately contacted vrbo and they said they were putting in a ticket to the property manager and there would be a solution in 24 hours. Well after a day and a half we had to go out and buy our own ant trap. That was after these ants got into our food and we lost our food. Here it is three days after our trip, we’ve contacted vrbo another three times and still haven’t heard anything. The property was nice but to spend all this money on a spot to stay while trying to worry about our wedding the same weekend, not worth it.

Four days on China Lake
Four days on China Lake. Property is beautiful and easy to get to. Well-managed! Wonderful views and a well appointed property. Access to the lake is difficult. Crawling over rocks to get in and out of the lake is definitely a challenge. That is the one and only negative to renting this property. Steps and a dock would make this property superlative. Small children would be a challenge getting in and out of the water

Lovely home near China Lake
Clean and well laid out. Quiet spot at the end of a dirt road. Had everything we needed for a 5 night stay. Deck with beautiful views. Basement lounge with large TV for evening movies or rainy days. Trail to water access is a little steep, but manageable for most. Ample parking. A little warm at times: Air Conditioning would be a nice upgrade. Host was friendly and available if needed. Convenient to Waterville or Augusta. Also close to our family, so we'll almost certainly be back! Recommended.

Double booked home
We arrived in Maine after a 10 Hour drive from New York. Only to find out that another family was in already in the home promised to us. They double booked the home. It took another 3 1/2 hours for them to come up with a solution for us. Now it's 10:00 PM. I persuaded them to put us up in a hotel 30 minutes away. They offered us a another home one hour away from our site that we originally paid for. Then they informed us that they had no place for us to go the next two nights. I then asked them to pay for the hotel the next two nights. They made out of the money and we lost the inconvenience in close proximity to where we needed to be. We had to eat out instead of having a kitchen to save money. Plus we had a hotel room instead a view on China Lake. A total bust for the VRBO. We will never use them again. We will share this story with people that are thinking of using VRBO. There is no indication that they will make it right with us.
