The surrounding area felt safe but there’s almost nothing you can walk to (but that’s São Paulo in general). Not much vibe in the bar area but good drinks selection. "

"The property is quirky, the staff are excellent, the dining is good. There are some old-fashioned touches - washing lines in the bathroom - and in places there is a clear need for refurbishment, but it's a comfortable place to stay. And the swimming pool is excellent. I realise from other reviews that one must book a superior room in order to have bottled water and tea-making facilities in the room, but in my view this should be available in all rooms as standard."
