“I have stayed at The Carnegie about 10 times in the last year due to my dad’s health and needing to visit often. The accommodations are the best and rival any place I have ever stayed anywhere in the world! Rooms are large with comfy beds, awesome housekeeping spacious desk area to get work done. The restaurant, Wellingtons has excellent food, great room service and the bartenders Sam and Zach are just AMAZING! “We have stayed at the inn before several years back, and decided to stay again. We love the historic look of the Balsam mountain Inn, we learned that it changed ownership a few years back and the new owners are looking to preserve the classic look that appeals to everyone so much. They want to keep it as original as possible which is great, the down side of that is they removed the window units from the rooms. This may sound bad to some but for me it was a welcomed trip back to my childhood of……

“I didn’t know what to expect when staying at a hotel with a historic designation, but I was pleasantly surprised. The aesthetic and visuals of the hotel from when it was more relevant are preserved; it feels like it was made to be a time capsule of sorts for everything except for the important modern updates (plumbing, flat screen TVs in rooms, etc.).
