"The only reason this hotel received 2 stars is because the staff was friendly and helpful. It’s a shame to see what was once considered one of the premier hotels in Boise fall into such poor condition. The carpet was literally duct taped to the floor, dirty laundry lined the hallways, and the smell of cigarettes hit you the moment you walked in and never really went away. The pool was bright green with algae, almost like something out of a comedy movie about a rundown hotel. In all my years of traveling, I have never had to change hotels in the middle of a trip. I tried to tough it out, but after two nights I finally had to leave. It should also be disclosed that portions of the hotel are being used to house homeless individuals. That is certainly an honorable service, but it’s something that should be clearly stated on both the hotel’s website and Expedia listing so guests know what to expect before booking."
