Lovely spot practically on the beach! Close to all that can be enjoyed on the North Fork but make it back in time for sunset. Very good and helpful communication from start to finish.

Perfect!

This was our third stay as a family of 6 at Shorecrest Beach House and we will be returning in the future. The house is clean and comfortable and there are ample provisions for cooking and entertaining which is key because the views of the Sound are so breathtaking that we never want to leave. Most of our meals are enjoyed at the house. Being pet friendly is a major plus as we don't board our dog(s) so it gives us the opportunity to truly enjoy a vacation together without someone having to "stay home and take care of the dog". Thank you, Marilyn for your genuine hospitality. This property is a true gem and we hope to spend many more years returning to it!

Heavenly views on a beautiful pebble beach

We stayed for two weeks in this lovely house. It had everything that our family of four needed for a relaxing and comfortable vacation. The beds are comfortable and the house was beautifully clean when we arrived. We cooked sometimes and brought take-out back to eat from the many available dining options in the area. The town of Greenport in only a short drive away, with all it's lovely shops and restaurants. The beach is beautiful and so good for treasure hunting pretty stones and shells. The absolute BEST thing about this house though is the view. We watched 14 totally different sunsets and would make sure we were back at the house every evening to enjoy them. Absolutely stunning. Then owner was super helpful and responsive with anything we needed. We were actually staying at the house during "Hurricane" Henri, but this turned into a mild storm, which was awesome to watch from the big sea-facing windows. We'll be back!

Perfect getaway

House and location provided the perfect setting for a family getaway. Very clean and well kept home with Fully stocked kitchen and plenty of quality linens and towels. Farms, vineyards, Greenport all just minutes away. Sunsets were spectacular so dinners were spent at home. Marilyn was a lovely host.

The house is cozy and welcoming, kitchen well equipped, rooms are nice and beds comfortable. The view to the sea and the sunset is amazing and to wake up with such a light a bless. Definitely enjoyed the place, the space and the harmony of the house. Property manager super responsive.

Great beach cottage and get away

This house was the perfect getaway for my family to escape the city to get some peace and quiet in Southold. The house is in a great location with a quick drive to either Greenport or Southold town. The location on the beach could not have been better. The sunset views were fantastic and different everyday. I would recommend this house for anyone traveling with a young family. We will definitely be back! Thanks Marilyn!

Great location on beach, close to Greenport. Very clean. Kitchen lacking some baking items and needs a new coffee pot. Manager very prompt to answer back with any? Even brought some fresh flowers from her b&b garden! Very peaceful location!

Quaint house with fantastic views! Close to the waterfront town of Greenport for great dinners and boutique shopping. Vineyards everywhere for local wine tasting. Took quick ferry rides to Shelter Island and Sag Harbor. It was a pleasure dealing with Marilyn regarding rental of this property. Hope to visit again someday.

Beautiful beach and sunsets!

The house is located on a busy road on one side, and the beach on the other. It was very clean and the accommodations were nice. Marilyn was great to work with and helped us out with the internet and any other questions we had. The house was not as well provisioned as we would have liked. One the first day, we had to run out and buy dish soap, toilet paper and soap. Other than that, it was great and we would stay again.

Fabulous Dog Friendly Beach House Getaway

We were absolutely blown away by how lovely our stay was at this beach front cottage right on the water in Southold! From the gorgeous sunsets seen from the porch over the water to how immaculately clean the house was, we loved every minute of our stay here. Having the beach right in the backyard is such a fantastic treat - the water is clean and our pup loved exploring and walking along the beach. The house comfortably fit 6 of us and we loved using the kitchen for cooking and being able to grill right outside. Marilyn, who runs the property, lives across the street where she runs her B&B and was wonderfully attentive to us during our stay. We cannot say enough great things about our vacation in this house and the North Fork. We can't wait to be back again!!

This place is beautiful, I can’t put it into words you need to see it for yourself! It’s right on the pristine Long Island sound located perfectly next to all the north fork had to offer from fun little towns to gorgeous vineyards. I can’t wait to go back!

The perfect place for us!

Thanks you Marilyn for ordering up a perfect school break for us- the house is exactly what three young kids need; free-range roaming, loads of rocks and sand, terrific location, abundant sunshine (I'm sure you had a hand in it) and of course, the coziness. The house is well equipped for serving with bowls, dishes, coffee machine, toaster, oven, etc but also the fire pit was lovely at sunset. We loved 'smores and unbelievable sunsets. We will be back unless this review have encouraged everyone to book...

Peaceful Bliss, best sunsets in the world!

This sound front property is one of the most unique places ive ever stayed in. I've seen sunsets in Santorini, Rome, and Barcelona, and the sunsets available to you from the beach side deck of this house can go round for round with any of the former mentioned. Everything was clean and the layout and amenities were everything and more that we asked for on our stay. Marilyn shared with us some of the local secrets of best restaurants to go to as well as what areas on the inlet provided the best kayaking. My girlfriend and I live in Boston, and this short trip over the New London ferry only took us 3 hours door to door! We went to Noah's, and industry Standard in Green Port village, as well as ventured over to Love Lane Kitchen in Mattituck, all were highly recommended by Marilyn, and none of them let down. We went to a few wineries as well, Costello di borghese had some of the best Pinot Noir that I have ever had, and sparkling pointe provided some great outdoor scenery with some crisp blanc de blancs to keep you cool. We liked both wines so much we couldn't leave without picking up a few bottles. Overall it was an amazing experience, the time flew by unfortunately too fast, and I cant wait to get back to my Long Island paradise!

Seaside in Southold

In the fall of 2014 I stayed at the Shorecrest Beach House over the road from Shorecrest B&B. It’s in the perfect location to be mesmerised by the ocean. Even on a windy fall day to look out from the lounge and kitchen windows to the sea and the subtle restful sound of the waves, was just magic. Step out the door and you’re sitting in your own chairs on your own piece of foreshore with your own beach experience. Make sure you wear something with good sized pockets because the beach has marvellous stones and pebbles and if you’re like me you’ll find yourself filling your pockets. Over the road at Shorecrest B&B Marilyn & Tom will help with local knowledge and Tom also has kayaks for hire. In the evening, sit on the porch or relax out on a lounger on the seafront lawn, read or watch TV indoors and still hear the sound of the sea, and when it comes time to go to bed, down the hallway into a peaceful cosy room. Enough rooms and beds for a good sized family or group. It has all the facilities to be self-sufficient no matter what the season or length of stay. Book it fast before too many others catch on!

highly recommend this property, great location

This house is beautiful with amazing views, house sits right on the Long Island sound and you have your own private beach, the sunsets are gorgeous every night. The customer service is outstanding and very helpful giving us ideas of places to go. There are lots of places to check out right near the house, wineries, farms, Greenport village, orient point, etc. Our overall experience was fantastic and I highly recommend this beach house and I will definitely be making another trip to this location.
