"After a week at a villa near the local beach, we just spent 2 unexpected extra nights at the Hotel Groticelli (due to cancelled flights home) and we all agreed it's a great place to stay, with amazing views, warm and helpful staff (receptionist helpfully speaks English), plenty to choose from at breakfast, and easy to access.     "Beautiful little hotel in quiet area. Walkable to little town and tons of good options. Very quaint area. Pool is lovely. Hotel is not on the water. If you want to go to the beach, you must book in advance at tonnara di Scopello. We hadn’t and so could not go down. The zingaro nature reserve was also closed due to a fire. The area is still worth a visit, but book the beach before you arrive. We were even off season. "
