Terrible neighborhood

The accuracy of this listing really misses the mark. Across the street from a homeless shelter and the neighborhood is definitely not quiet and serene. The rental is not very well appointed and didn’t even have basic necessities. Overall a disappointing rental for us.

Perfect!

Clean, less than 10 minutes to Old Town parking garage, well appointed kitchen for eating in. Quality beds and beddings, plentiful towels. Excellent host communication! 100% recommendation.

Great place great location

Excellent stay. House was very well-stocked and the location was ideal for us to be able to get to and from downtown St Augustine to experience Night of Lights. The host was excellent with communication. We will be staying here again!

Uncomfortable neighborhood and no lights in backyard

The house was clean and inside described correctly and very accommodating. The check in and out process was very easy. This is a dog friendly house with a fenced in backyard however there was no working outside lights. You cannot go outside with your pet safely to pick up the poop in the evening because you can not see your hand in front of your face. Homeowner did respond to my inquiry right away about the lights outside not working but no solution was found other than to use a flashlight. You can really only use the backyard during daylight hours. There was dog waste all over the yard and I’m sure it was because owners couldn’t see to pick it up. The owner did send a housekeeper to clean the yard for us right away. In addition the neighborhood is very unsettling. There were houses not taken care of all around the house and a homeless shelter on the street. There were train tracks very close and the one night we stayed a train came 3xs between 2am-3:30am. There were cars parked in the street late at night playing loud music right outside the front of the house people. We lost out on our money for second night because we were scared to stay another evening. The house is not far from the historic downtown area but not close enough to walk.

Overall Great Stay!

The house itself was super cute, comfy & cozy. The location was good in regards to getting places easily, however, the neighborhood itself was very run down and some of the neighbor's homes were not well kept. Aside from the esthetic of the neighborhood, the house was great!

Great stay, bad first impression

We had a great stay & it was very enjoyable once we settled in. The inside of the house is really well done & very accurate from the pictures & description. It fit our family of 2 adults & 2 teens perfectly. Jen offered an early check in which was thoughtful but we could not arrive until after 10:00pm due to our travel distance. The train mentioned in the notes was active and certainly noticeable at night, although the noise machines provided are a nice touch. The rooster in the neighbors yard was unexpected but reminded us of one of our favorite places so that was not an issue. We do have a recommendation that may help for future residents. We may be the exception, as most visitors likely arrive during the daylight hours. When we got there after driving through a neighborhood that, upon first appearance at night, seems bit unsafe, especially if it was just my wife & daughter alone, there were no lights turned on, inside or outside so it was hard to identify the address &make sure it was correct. We actually walked up to a neighboring home first, assuming it was the rental because it was so well lit up but thankfully we didn’t disturb the owners. The arrival was not ideal after a long drive and having to walk from the car through the dark in an unfamiliar neighborhood. At the side entry door as indicated in the instructions, a motion light came on so that helped. The house was completely dark inside and again felt a bit unsafe Once we got the lights on it was great!

This house was amazing! Stunning decoration and everything is so clean. We spent New Year’s Eve there and it was comfortable for a group of 7. The property is in a great area, everything close inclusive of the historic district in St. Augustine

Perfect little getaway!

This is a great place to stay if you want to be close to George Street and all the cool things St. Augustine has to offer, without being stuck in the hectic traffic! When we checked in, my code did not originally work but Jen responded immediately and we got in with ease. Our stay was great, the cottage has everything you need! Kudos to Jen for helpful hints and perfect response time. If we are in the area again, I will definitely try to book this.

Sibling Get Away

My brother, sister and I go away for a short vacation together without anyone else. This was a nice place to stay and just hang out. We had fun going to the lighthouse. fort and the Christmas Lighs.
