The property was amazing. It had plenty of space, the pool was great, and the beach access was perfect! There is a really cool walking trail near the house over the marsh land. We were minutes away from the Vilano Pier and the perfect distant from historic landmarks like the Castillo and lighthouse. Just perfect!

Vacation 2026

The sun was beginning to set as our family of seven pulled into the driveway of our vacation home in Florida, the warm golden rays filtering through the palm trees. There was a palpable excitement in the air as we stepped out of the car, our eyes widening at the sight of the sprawling property before us. It looked like something straight out of a magazine, with spacious rooms and a stunning backyard that led directly to a pool. As we settled in, we found our rooms, reveling in the luxury of personal space. That night, we decided to grill dinner while the kids played. The owner had provided a grill, and we set to work preparing two whole chickens, cabbage, and potatoes. The aroma filled the air, perfectly complementing the joyful sounds of splashing water as the kids swam, oblivious to the heavenly smells wafting from the grill. We also played pool while waiting for our food to be ready! With bellies full and hearts content, we ventured out the next day to explore the local area. A gas station just down the road made it easy to grab snacks, and within five minutes, we found a Publix where we could stock up on any essentials. One of the highlights of our trip was our adventure with the kayaks that the house provided. As we ventured into town, Saint George Street greeted us with various vibrant shops. We spent hours browsing unique boutiques, but our favorite spot was the Cajun Crab Hut. The seafood was out of this world, and we left with full stomachs and big smiles.

Spring Break Trip

Lovely location. All the amenities. Vilano Beach is the place to go! Great location. The included beach cruiser bikes are much appreciated, only 3 blocks to the beach proper. No buts, but, lots of stairs! So not only is it vacation, but you get exercise too!

Family Vacation - Pirates Paradise

My wife and I have stayed in Vilano on several occasions within the past 10 years and Pirates Paradise is one of the best VRBO that we have rented. Our family consists of 7 adults and 2 small children. The house is in a great location with nice sunset views, access to the creek for a nice kayak ride, short walk to the beach, and a short drive to downtown St. Augustine. The pool is fantastic and was enjoyed by everyone. Having corn-hole boards and a pool table was a lot of fun and a nice addition. The property was clean and well-maintained. The property manager was excellent (Angie) and very responsive both at check in and check out. Overall a great trip for our family and we plan to be back next year!
