Upon arrival there was a VERY strong and rank odor that permeated all areas of this unit. The bed smelled strongly of urine and sour sheets. The bed spread has visible marks and soils. The couch and linens for the sofa bed were filthy with hairs, white crusty stains and more of the rank smell. We addressed this with the rental company and they basically assured us that it had been cleaned and and their solution was to bring in air fresheners. We had to spend 50 on cleaning products and spent our very busy day washing and laundering all possible items in this unit to make it bearable. It took detergent, oxi clean, an entire bottle of febreze, Swiffer mop pads and air fresheners to bring this unit to any kind of living quality. After laundering, the bedding and sheets were fresh, but we also had to clean a very dirty and soiled mattress pad and pillows. There was no attempt to inspect or assess the smells and soils for themselves. The only solution was to bring in two air fresheners. The uptake and care of this unit has been very neglected. There is absolutely no excuse for a bed to smell like urine and have marks and stains upon it. The bare minimum was done to prepare this unit for renters.We have long been renters through VRBO and have NEVER left a negative review or had to complain about accommodations. This has been the most disappointing rental experience.
