Driftwood Porthmeor a spacious and extremely bright, 2 bedroom maisonette with sea views from front & back. Large south facing sheltered sun terrace. Private parking for one vehicle outside the property. Sleeps 5. Lovely and clean. Quality appliances so you can eat in and chill out comfortably and in style. Tassimo machine, cafeteire, milk frother, microwave, double oven. Fridge freezer. Bedrooms have supportive mattresses, quality duvets & pillows. Situated just 5 minutes walk from the gorgeous award winning fine sands and crystal clear waters of Porthmeor Beach (Blue Flag & Tidy Awards), Harbour , Tate Gallery and town centre. Adjacent to property is Ayr's lovely playground and playing field. Driftwood Porthmeor has coastal sea views from all windows and offers peace and quiet after the hustle and bustle of town. Quiet, well behaved dogs welcome. All school holiday Friday- Friday bookings only. Bed linen supplied over 5 days Easter to 1st September. No towels but these can be hired. Dog friendly near the park but alot of steps if you have an old dog 🐕.
Couldnt get the Microwave to work ? Not sure why. Interesting shower with deep tub you have to climb into.

Lovely size really clean and perfect location being close to town but also very quiet The allocated parking is a game changer when in St IvesThis lovely flat has everything you could need for your stay
The apartment was very clean, spacious and well-equipped for a relaxed break in St Ives. It is situated in a quiet area though a fairly strenuous uphill walk from the harbour which might not suit everyone! Car parking is on-site and a great asset.
Great location 5 minutes walk to Porthmeor Beach. Property maintained in immaculate order with everything we could wish for to ensure our stay was a true home from home experience.
Justine was helpful from the moment of booking to help and answer any questions. We will definitely be using Driftwood again for our stays in St Ives.
Some remedial work needed on door to balcony.
A new key safe would make things easier.

Excellent property, clean, comfortable and convenient.
Apartment was first rate. The price to be paid for its fine views is a somewhat arduous climb on foot up some pretty steep hills from the town centre, harbour and town beaches, just something to be aware of if you are not naturally energetic (its location is too close to justify a taxi, and parking in town is very limited, we only saw one bus which appears to go to the Leisure Centre). Nonetheless, we had a great time despite its being out of season.
A sweet and simple condo - basic comfy, nothing fancy. In a good location above the town center and with its own designated parking spot, but there are a LOT of steps to get to the unit and it’s on two floors. I would stay again, but it might not be the best choice for everyone.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from Boxing Day until 2nd Jan.
The maisonette is super clean and well equipped, the kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal including plenty of utensils, weighing scales and pans. The kids loved the added toys and games and if guests have younger children it’s lovely to see high chairs, a stair gate and plastic bowls and plates are all available.
The maisonette is in an ideal location with the town and beaches within walking distance. Having a parking space that close to town is a big added bonus too.
Justine is very proactive and helpful which is really appreciated. I would book this property with confidence again.

Die Lage in Bezug auf die Nähe zum Strand oder zur Stadtmitte war sehr gut. Die Lage der Wohnung in dieser ziemlich heruntergekommenen alten Anlage war schlecht. Wenn man auf den Parkplatz fuhr, roch es nach vermoderndem Abfall, der wohl auch nur selten abgeholt wurde. Das Haus von außen muss dringend saniert werden. Der Aufgang zur Wohnung ist steil und auch da muss man durch einen heruntergekommenen Hinterhof, vorbei an einer Messiwohnung. Die Fotos der Wohnung stimmen definitiv nicht mit dem Ist-Zustand überein. Auch da roch es unangenehm, als wir reinkamen. Die Spülmaschine enthielt größere Mengen an Essensresten, der Filter war seit langer Zeit nicht gesäubert worden. Die Geräte und auch die Möbel haben schönere Zeiten erlebt und sind jetzt als und verbraucht. Die Dusch ist absolut nicht geeignet für kleinere Kinder, ältere Menschen. Man muss erst zwei glatte Stufen erklimmen, um in den “Bottich” zu gelangen. Es gibt keine Zentralheizung und somit auch kein warmes Wasser. Dieses gibt es in der Dusche nur, wenn man einen Schalter betätigt (auch damit waren wir nicht vertraut). Die Terrasse kann man kaum nutzen, wenn man mal in Ruhe seinen Tee trinken möchte, da man den Nachbarn gleich auf den Tisch schauen kann und diese uns. Ich habe dem Vermieter auch schon einiges erzählt, was uns nicht gefallen hat. Er ist sehr nett, aber nicht wirklich auf die Zustände eingegangen. Wir werden dieses Objekt definitiv nicht wieder buchen und können es auch nicht weiterempfehlen.
Wir haben diese Unterkunft für Ende September gebucht:
Die Unterkunft ist sehr gut gelegen; allerdings nicht sehr ideal für Menschen mit Geh-Einschränkungen, da man steil bergauf laufen muss. Man hat jedoch einen fantastischen Blick und ist in 7 Min in der Fußgängerzone. Um die Ecke ist ein schönes Kaffee und eine Art Kiosk.
Was uns nicht gefallen hat ist; dass man für die Bettwäsche und Handtücher extra zahlen musste- diese Regelung gilt jedoch nur ab Ende September. Dies ist nicht nachvollziehbar, denn September gilt im allgemeinen als Top Reise Saison. Zudem reist man als Tourist wohl kaum mit Handtüchern und Bettwäsche im Flieger an.
Ganz schlimm war die Dusche und deren Funktion. Die Regelung der Temperatur ist furchtbar. Entweder man verbrüht sich oder duscht kalt. Der Wasserdruck ist so schwach,sodass man Shampoo aus langen Haaren nicht heraus gewaschen bekommt.
The property is within easy walking distance of beaches and the beautiful harbour, we have two kids under 5 and all our needs were catered for. Justine was a great host and answered and resolved any queries easily.
As a holiday let, it was ideally located to get to the beach, harbour and high street within walking distance. Plus it also had a parking space outside of the house which is a nightmare in st. Ives to get a parking spot.
We stayed for five nights in July. Justine was great at communicating and gave us all the necessary information well before we set off. The house was minutes walk from the beach and in a perfect location for all of St Ives, it had all the amenities we needed and more. It was also great exercise walking up and down the hill from the house daily. The house was quiet at night for a good nights sleep too!
I stayed here with my husband and 2 year old for four nights to explore St Ives and the surrounding area. The walks into town, Porthmeor Beach and the Tate were short and simple. Very clean and charming property. Great size for a family. Well stocked with kitchen utensils to cook meals. Added bonuses for us were having a nice wooden playground just outside, the sun terrace, and a parking spot. Host was easy to reach.
This two story flat was charming and clean and comfortable. Short walk (9-10 min) to the center of town and beaches. Conveniently located with parking which is huge bonus in St Ives!
