Borthalan Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"We had a fantastic 7 night stay at Borthalan House in Carbis Bay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. The location is excellent, with the beautiful Carbis Bay beach just a 5-minute walk away. The crystal-clear water and stunning scenery made it the perfect place to relax. The nearby train station is also only a short walk away, making it incredibly easy to visit St Ives without the hassle of driving or parking. Margaret and Martin were exceptional hosts from start to finish. They were warm, welcoming, and always happy to help, offering excellent local recommendations and sharing their knowledge of the area, which really helped us make the most of our holiday. Each morning started with a delicious freshly cooked fried breakfast, which set us up perfectly for a day of exploring Cornwall. Overall, Borthalan House offered us a great combination of comfortable accommodation, a superb location, outstanding hospitality, and an excellent breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return in the future."

"Our room was situated at the top of the main building with a beautiful view towards St Ives town and the surrounding area. We were supplied with a fan which was essential due to the hot weather. There were a few maintenance issues with our room which included a drawer front within the wardrobe falling open every time you opened the door. The shower head was small and the bottom of the rail had a part that kept falling off. These are small matters but it shows that the room was a bit tired. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very clean. Overall we appreciated the hospitality from the staff and the ease of parking which was included in the price of the stay. The outdoor pool was excellent."

"Cannot fault Boskerris Hotel. We had The Tiny Room and wondered how that would work out. Gorgeous room and En-suite, with everything we needed. Food was excellent with so much choice. Hotel lounge fab and view from the terrace was amazing. But what made our stay really special were the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they were all just so lovely. We will definitely be returning."

"The hotel was absolutely amazing it felt like we were staying in a completely refurbished room. The owners were fantastic and they made sure that the room was spotless every day. We have stayed in many hotels in London lately and the cleanliness of this hotel would beat these hands down. They have a great policy on towel changing to help the environment which I love. We changed once on our trip. We stayed in number 5 and we had a sea view. The owners actually asked us which room we wanted out of 2 rooms. The breakfast was a combination of cereal, orange juice, bottled water, pastry, breakfast bars and lovely yogurts all in the room fridge. Great location between St Ives and Hayle with easy bus and train routes. The nearest beach was Carbis Bay and it was stunning."
