I'm going to start w/that we are not new to VRBO and do not need to be catered to, however, like it clean, efficient and usually book according to reviews and expect accurate representation of property if something is advertised as such, which may alter our choices.
I'm going to break into pros & cons
PROS
1)The communication w/ owner was great and she has great follow through. I should have been leery about no deposits/contracts though.
2)View is great and has personal parking spot. Has pool, and barbeque grill. Has AC in bedrooms. Has all kitchen utensils.
CONS
The listing is not misleading but also not super accurate.
1)Unit has dishwasher, but broken and not disclosed w/no follow thru to try to repair while visit. Grossed us out due to dishes were run thru and put away with food on plates when we arrived, so we hand washed the ones we would use daily.
2)Has pool, but pool light broken and no outdoor lighting so very unsafe to get to pool in evening despite a flashlight
3)Has AC in bedroom, but barely could be considered one, very warm at night. Not to mention the main living quarters or bedrooms have no screens on any doors, so very hot, due to couldn't have any cross breeze to help, and bugs were heavy so had to keep doors closed at all times, and ceiling fans don't really cool down humidity.
4)Has new BBQ, but lid on one side missing hinge bolt, very janky, but cooked well
5)Has new oven/stovetop as per greeter, but no directions on usage and no lighter w/ any fluids to use the thing. Had to make trip to hardware store to purchase lighter.
6)cleanliness was considered poor in my opinion. Lot of hair in showers and on all floors, and on shower curtain. Showers are small and so are we, but the curtain was always touching you. Gross
7)The bedrooms are both upstairs, but you have to go outside to access. Didn't expect that. Due to night time storms, you get wet when you go to kitchen to get water in the middle of night, tile slick. Towel bars falling off wall and knobs on cabinets falling off.
This property could be much better with some better cleanliness and attention to details. It might be helpful to make a " guidebook / tips for property" - #'s to call / "how to" instructions, etc. Need to make sure there are lighters to use for stove,propane on sight etc. Screen doors would help to utilize ocean breeze for free and not need to use AC that doesn't work that well anyway. Just make sure its ready rent once put on rental market. Frustrating
