New York St. Marks Place Hotels

"The hotel is older, which is fine because it is well maintained. However be warned that the therehold to the bathroom was raised and caused a tripping hazard. The staff could have been friendlier. We were told there was a bottle of wine in the room however there wasn’t. When we brought it up the next day the guy just walked away from us. He came back 5 minutes later and said he talked to his manager and would get us another. We didn’t ask for the bottle we were just sharing. It was odd to not have clear communication. If you store your luggage they charge a $1 per piece and then you are encouraged to tip as well. It wasn’t the easiest process. Overall the stay was fine for the night."

"The room where i stayed was outdated and very small however my cousin’s room are renovated and bigger. Booked with breakfast but not worth it since it only give you option of bagel or toast. Location is good. I’m being generous in giving them a rate of 3/5."

"Need a code not keys to enter the building and your room. The problem with that is the room doors automatically lock so you need to manually unlock it which that, combined with the automatic closing of the door turns into a VERY loud experience everytime you or a neighbor does that. So all you hear (and very much feel) are these loud BANGS every time someone enters or exits their room. I barely slept because of this."

"This was definitely one of the better hotels in which I’ve stayed in NYC. Large rooms, friendly staff, respectful guests and the rooftop is fantastic."

"I have stayed at the Arlo Midtown several times and it never disappoints. Located just a few blocks from Penn Station makes this the perfect home base for a few days in NYC. The breakfast in the restaurant was a nice add from my last stay here. My only complaint would be the slamming room doors, otherwise a perfect stay!"

"one of the women at your front desk needs an attitude adjustment, she was rude to me and my team. When their ac wouldn't shut off she gave them a time limit on them moving rooms? she wouldn't move them if they took over ten minutes... i think she's in the wrong business because she surely is not hospitable. none of our tvs worked in any of our 3 rooms! "
