“A great place to rest our heads after a long day of hiking! The Glad Cottage was the perfect size for the two of us and our dog, though keep in mind it is tiny! It was clean, the kitchen was modern, and the cabin itself was cozy and welcoming. We had our own fire pit and deck which was a great bonus, plus lots of space to walk our dog.”

“This property was one of the best we have stayed at. It was everything we needed, the bedroom and bathroom luxurious. The kitchen area was the perfect size, stocked with a choice of coffees, teas and snacks. It’s perfectly located to go to the many wineries, restaurants and shopping in the area, It is an easy drive into Charlottesville. Our hostess was great, texting to check if we needed anything. I highly recommend a stay here.”

“The house was very clean. Kitchen had all the pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Bathroom was very clean with all the towels and wash cloths you could ever need. The bedrooms were so comfortable. We loved that it had a travel pack n play and high chair for our toddler. Made traveling with all our toddlers things a little easier. “Overall, the stay was enjoyable! The Hobbit House is very unique and quite cozy. It is close to a few different lovely wineries and not too far from some hiking trails. The bed in the house was VERY comfortable. Also, the stray cats and dogs that visited around the house were cute and an unexpected treat. The house is somewhat in the woods so there were some harmless critters that visited as well. I would definitely stay here again!”

“First time here, staying in the lodge in a themed room with a fantastic view and wonderful sunrise. Food was excellent in the restaurant. The surprise came when we found out that a large fireworks display was being held at the lodge! We did not have to go anywhere for anything! One little complaint: we heard the people above us.
