Lovely Traditional Country Pub

Lovely country pub in good location for local tourist sites with friendly and attentive staff. Stayed for one night whilst visiting Beamish Living Museum, nice room, friendly bar downstairs and full cooked breakfast available in the morning. Will be happy to return and would recommend to others.

A perfect retreat for a weekend.

Fantastic two night stay in a great establishment. Room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast to die for and proper pub on site to enjoy a great pint, local friendliness and some brilliant evening entertainment. I’ll definitely be back. 👍❤️

The oak tree inn was a good choice for a one night stay. The drinks were nice and the breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive. The room was nice and clean. Tv remote was very slow and shower wasn't great. Bed was only a double and prefer king size but was fine for stop over stay

Good value, comfortable and very clean.

Nice local pub, everyone was friendly. Room was nice and clean but could do with some cosmetic upgrades e.g mirror had 3 cracks. Bed was lovely and comfortable but I would have preferred if it had mattress and pillow protectors. Breakfast was £7.50 - cereals, fruit juice, cooked breakfast and toast. The poached eggs were spot on.

Not for the early birds

Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Being above a pub, it was pretty loud until about 11.30 and breakfast isn't served until 8.30 the following morning. No soap in the bathroom, only half a toilet roll and an already opened shower gel mini. Staff were really friendly (as were the pub patrons!).

Best stay in Stanley.

Stayed here for one night. The hotel staff were super warm and welcoming. Loved the hotel room. Had all the basic amenities like toiletries and heating. English breakfast that they provide was excellent and delicious! Highly recommended!

Oak tree stay .

Good comfortable bed,room was smallish but did the job, needs a little bit of an upgrade to make it really nice, breakfast was excellent. Would stay again .

Very nearly 10/10

Very clean room, lovely well kept pub run by excellent staff. If I could offer any advice to the owners it would be; a shelf in the shower for bottles, and make it perfectly clear that evening meals are not available. It's a bit ambiguous in the property description. Other than that, all good. The breakfast is fantastic, and excellent value.
