Tranquil, cozy atmosphere. It’s well located. Staff is friendly and service was excellent. The room was spacious enough, minimalistic, had nice design accents and was very comfortable. We really enjoyed it.

Great location to stay in Takayama - everything was confortable and clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Bed very confortable - walking distance from all the best places in Takayama - we would stay here again if we come back. The location of this hotel is brilliant, right in the old town. And the onsen was a welcome relax at the end of a busy day. The staff were friendly and so helpful. The bed area was not that comfortable, a steep shelf to climb up is difficult for those with walking difficulties. And the bed was the hardest we slept on during our entire stay in Japan.

Good size room. Like the free flow of drinks (local sake, Asahi beer, coffee/tea) provided from 5pm till midnight at the lobby. Cosy lounge area. Very helpful and friendly staff. Top marks to all of them. Hotel very conveniently located near the old town. I would recommend trying at least once the Japanese breakfast provided by the hotel.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Futons on elevated platform provided a warm, soft and cozy sleeping space. All employees were polite, helpful and courteous. Public bath was well-maintained, clean and had subdued lighting for a peaceful soak. Pajamas and slippers provided. Family Mart 24 hours next door, old town very close and fun to shop for souvenirs. Can't wait to come back in springtime.

The hotel was perfectly fine in the heart of the historical district. Super friendly staff. Comfy futon beds. Free bar until 10.30. Great onsen. Busy serving your groups, a few scuffs and wear and tear. But for price point? Bang on the buck.

A truly special experience in Takayama old town

This hotel was truly something special! Spotlessly clean, great friendly service, free sake and beer in the evenings, and a very tasty breakfast too. Location in Takayama’s old town couldn’t have been better. A real highlight of my trip so far

Amazing hotel in a great location close to the old town, morning market and Sake shops. The room was big and had everything we needed. Hotel also had free drinks from 5pm and breakfast service which was an incredible traditional Japanese breakfast. Hotel had a spa room and also accepts tattoos. Highly recommend and would stay again!

A nice hotel, very conveniently located, but very busy when we stayed and not as “mindful” as it markets itself. Room was large, but futon beds were rock solid and uncomfortable (even for someone who is happy sleeping directly on tatami). The breakfast was very generous, tasty and beautifully presented, but the dining room/lounge is very loud.
