The hosts were super kind and friendly, and the rooms, bathrooms were super clean. The common area is cozy and perfect to have a talk with people staying in the same hostel. It’s also really central and a2 min walk from the main station

Amazing Hostel in Takayama!
This was our first time to stay in a hostel, it was cosy and felt like living in someone else's house instead of a hotel. Staff were very hospitable and accommodating. Luggage can be kept before check in and after check out. Common areas were clean and did not feel cramped. When we were there, all guests followed the hostel policies. There was a common refrigerator where you can keep your food, just label it well. There was free brewed coffee in the morning at 7:00-10:00am. Instant coffee and tea were also provided 24 hours. You can use the kitchen to cook food, just clean up after. Very near JR Takayama station and the Nohi Bus Center

Beutiful decor. Comfortable lounge area. Very clean. I really liked the privacy in the beds in the dorm And the staff were FANTASTIC!! So so helpful It felt more like a spa than a hostel at times. Highly recommended

Nice hostel except that there is no lift to the lobby area so with big suitcase, it was quite troublesome. Other than that, our stay was pretty good.

Loved the traditional feel of this hostel, had a double room and it was very spacious, very comfortable bed. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Easy to access old town area and the main tourist sights, as well as a short walk to the train station

Great location and Nice hotel
5 min walk from the JR and Bus station. 10 min walk to the morning market and old streets. Booked the Japanese style room for 4 pax. The hotel has a rooftop and level 5 where you can chill and relax. It has a common kitchen where you can cook your meals.

Usual high standards of K's House
This is the 3rd K's House I stayed throughout Japan. As usual, high standards was set. The place is meticulously maintained, and it felt pleasant the moment you step into the reception. The dormitory is pod style, with lockable compartment & power point within. The mattress & linen are comfortable. Washrooms spotless. They have washing machine & dryer on site too. Basically, they took care of every necessity a backpacker could ask for. Takayama is a good transit point for visiting Shirakawago & the Japan Alps.

Very good location
K's Hostel Takayama Oasis has a very good location, just 5 minute walk from JR Takayama Station and Nohi Bus Terminal. We only stayed 1 night. Got 2 rooms.. one room for 3 people which they added another bed. Room is spacious for 3 people. We arrived early so we had to leave our luggage first. The reception staff was very friendly. They also have a kitchen and lounge area with free coffee/tea and you can also cook. Will definitely stay in this hostel again!

We stayed in Japanese room for family. The room is adequate for 2 adults and 2 children and very clean. However the bathtub is a little bit too small for us. Location wise, it is near the station about 7 minutes walk.

Good for a Hostel
The hotel was clean enough and in a good location, not too far from the train and bus terminals. It was our first time staying in a hostel so it was not what I prefer. We only chose this one because the other available choices in the area were too expensive or sold out. But for the price, it was decent enough. If you are looking for a budget experience then this hotel is a decent value.

The staff were very helpful. I called them to inform I would arrive after 9pm. They helped my checkin process very smooth even there was no more staff at the front desk. Thank you! But one more thing to inprove: Shower rooms are a bit too few.

Good central location with traditonal room!
The main door and the outside of the building wasn't attractive, however when you step in the room, it is a traditional Japanese room with reasonable price. We had a good night sleep and everything was perfect!

Pleasant hostel near JR Takayama station
Japanese room (with 3 futons) was a little cramped for triple sharing, but nevertheless the room was clean, comes with attached bathroom and there was even a small TV. As this is a hostel, the fridge, kitchen and dining areas are shared with other occupants, but these were very well maintained. There's even a heater under the tables at the common area! Laundry facilities are available for a small fee (300 yen). Overall, a pleasant stay at K's house with my friends.

Great, but needs more showers
Lovely hostel, great location (two blocks away from Takayama JR and bus station). You can walk anywhere in Hida Takayama from here (I even walked to Hida no Sato, which is 35-40 minutes away). One problem: there are only TWO showers in the entire hostel!

Quick visit to Takayama and Hida Folk village
Only stayed for one night- the temple where I stayed the previous night was booked that night. The hostel was warm and comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful.

disappointing
Have stayed in K's hostels in past and been happy: but this time round was disappointed. The kitchen and lounge space really small so always too crowded. Not friendly like other hostels. Would of been better value to stay in hotel and have room serviced also room would of been nicer. Cooking here wasn't enjoyable - so why bother staying in a hostel (unless you're in a dorm), just not cost effective as couple.

Very Nice Hotel
Good location, very close to the train station and old town area. We love this place especially the kitchen, spacious and full of cooking tools. We stayed in Japanese Style Room and it was really good, clean and comfortable. The rent bikes by the hour and the costs of washing clothes which is very reasonable. Very friendly and helpful staff with good english communication.

Convenient, friendly hostel
Cute hostel only a few minutes walk to the train station and to most tourist sites (favourite being Sanmachi district) . Great service, lady can speak good English and staff gave us a little surprise gift for our honeymoon. The downside would be that you can hear every thump and foot steps due to the thin Walls. That didn't bother me as I'm a deep sleeper but for light sleepers I'd keep this in mind. Overall a pleasant stay and would book again :)
