There were at least national chain hotels in this area. All had a "good" rating, so I wasn't expecting a pristine property. This was an older property with worn rugs in the hall and a strong smoky fragrance throughout. The beds were firm and adequate. Breakfast was a decent offering with eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, and waffle maker. Had an outdoor pool that we did not use.

We were in and out since this was a stopping point on an overnight trip. Room was clean and place was quiet. Off the beaten path but in a safe are I felt.

Room wasn’t put together well, the AC unit was damaged, the room smelled like cigarettes from the day we checked in until we left, front desk staff was nice but housekeeping never came or gave us new towels. We stayed from evacuating from hurricane Isaias. Breakfast was good, internet sucked. Overall 2.5/5. The only reason I’d go back is the front desk staff’s customer service and kindness.

Bed was comfortable, water pressure was good and water was hot. The entire hotel had an unpleasant chemical odor. Even the water. The desk chair in our room was very rusty, the lampshades were dusty and stained and we killed a cockroach in our room. And one of the bedside lamps did not work.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, which was the only positive aspect of my stay. Unfortunately, both the room and the building had a strong mold smell, and the presence of mold was very noticeable. The breakfast was disappointing. The scrambled eggs tasted old, and there was not even basic coffee available. I gave this hotel 3 stars solely because of the staff. They were excellent, but the hotel itself did not meet my expectations.
