Reported the AC not working properly, and no one fixed it. No offer to be moved to another room. Cleaning of room did not include anthing but new towels, when they remembered, and making the bed. Even with a tip, service no better. Pool bar snack food was horrible, dried out and cold.

Property was extremely outdated and our room was very inconvenient due to having to climb stairs to get from the entry of room to the actual room! The food was mediocre at best, low quality meats and selections. Check out process was a pain. The only pro, was the free premium dining options that they give you every 3 days.

This property was a disappointment. The room smelled like mold, the water would not get hot in the shower, the toilet would not flush completely, and anything that deviated from what they considered the norm, was not acceptable. The cleaning person went through my daughter's luggage and repacked, and puts things in it. We had trouble getting extra towels only upon request. And the policy of having a towel card where you have to pay $35 if you don't have it is ridiculous.

The resort is in a beautiful location right on Playa Langosto and walking distance to Tamarindo. The layout is gorgeous and the hotel staff are very friendly. The entertainment in the evening was very nice with the dancers putting up a different show every night. This is not a five star resort. The food was very simple and got boring after a day, and the shower was never even lukewarm. We still had a great time.

Place is ok. I wouldn’t stay again though. It’s not actually all inclusive unless you stay more than 3 days. Buffet food is pretty bad even compared to other all inclusives. Beach is ok but not great unless you’ve never surfed anywhere good before. Very beginner waves and rocky. Amazing place to watch sunset though that’s the biggest plus

L'hébergement a besoin de rénovations. Le terrain de tennis est désuet. Les plats proposés sont répétitifs. Les activités offertes sur place sont ennuyantes. Des informations sur les marées et surtout sur leur dangerosité devraient être fournies de vive-voix. Les restaurants à la carte ne respectent pas leur thème (restaurant japonais qui propose du riz cantonais, décorations chinoises,etc... ). Dans les chambres, la climatisation fait un bruit d'enfer.

The room was as described, a slight sewage smell and I wasn’t prepared for the racoons but I enjoyed my stay. The beach was nice it’s walkable to a less rocky area. The resort staff were wonderful, it’s walkable to downtown where food, beaches and shops. Jusy offers the best tours and excursions she was also very accommodating. I would go back

The property was what you'd expect for the price. Our check in felt rushed and lacked direction. The food was mediocre. Staff was friendly and rooms & property were clean. Loved the location, quieter side of Tamarindo with some lovely dining options just off property and a 25min walk into the shopping district.

The Occidental always has a variety of activities scheduled and playing beach volleyball in the sunset with the surf in the background everynight was the highlight of our day. A great place to relax and be athletic!
