Double Booked!!!!
The dates at the top of this form are wrong….. my reservation was for 2/24 - 2/25 (reservation #HA-8XVRS8). I phoned Edgar on Saturday morning before I left for Tampa because I hadn’t received any check in information. He said that I should receive an email soon. During my trip, I checked my email a few times….. still no news from Edgar. After an hour and a half of driving I arrived at Edgar’s rental and waited in the driveway a bit. As I waited, a couple pulled in beside me. After a brief conversation with them, I found out that they were renting at the same address and had check in instructions. I texted Edgar and told him that I was in the driveway of his rental waiting to check in. After waiting a bit, I was just about to call him and he came out of the main house and I found out that the place had been double booked. Edgar explained that he advertises in a couple of different ways…….due to the lack of communication his place got double booked…….and I was out of luck! There were no affordable rentals available nearby. I was in Tampa to spend the weekend with friends from California. I ended up on the couch of their small rental. I’m not sure where the fault lies, but this is a negative reflection on Vrbo and Edgar. I did receive my money back but I was put me in a very awkward and uncomfortable position. I’m a 69 year old woman and was traveling alone.
