Royal Continental Hotel Naples
8/10 Good
"This hotel was very nice and the staff at the front desk were very polite and welcoming. I felt the pictures online did not seem like some parts of the hotel. Although the lobby, dining area, bar, and new elevators were all great, the guest rooms were a bit outdated. They were very clean, but I felt they needed some updating. I also had hoped to get in the whirlpool, but there was not one, nor the pool, which was closed for the season.
Otherwise, this hotel was very nice and in such a nice area of the city with spectacular views of the water and mountains as well as walking distance to the city for shopping or dining."
"Booked here last minute and it was fantastic. I had the Junior Suite which has an oversized large balcony with 2 lounge chairs and jacuzzi tub outside overlooking the sea. There are 2 sliding doors that allow a nice breeze inside. Amalfi is a rather noisy town with all the vehicles, horns beeping, sirens, garbage trucks, etc but you cannot hear any of it when the doors are shut. Shower had crazy good water pressure. Place was clean. Breakfast was fantastic with so many options (Potatoes, Eggs, Sausage, Pork, Deli Meats, Cereal, Pastries and much more). Staff were super friendly. I would book here again in a heartbeat."
"This is an older grand hotel which sits directly overlooking the Gulf of Naples. It's within an easy and mostly flat walk to the stores and restaurants of Sorrento. The rooms were comfortable but tight and the bathroom was a decent size for Italy. The glass partition in the tub, which was supposed to prevent water from going out onto the floor, had a loose-fitting seal at the bottom so the water ran down the glass and onto the floor when you took a shower. The air conditioning worked well and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet, which is included, had a very large selection of delicious items. It also had a pool area and restaurant for lunch with outdoor seating. None of them were crowded during our visit last week."
