“I never received any messages to say that I had to contact the hotel if I was arriving after 10pm from Expedia. Only when I arrived and reception was closed did I look at their website which stated that fact. Therefore I could not stay because I couldn’t check in and had no choice but to drive away. I understand it was not refundable, but I did expect to stay the night at least. In summary I got charged for the pleasure and couldn’t even stay. I paid for breakfast too. Poor communications. This……

“Evening meals were good. Garden was also pleasant. A lot of traffic noise especially with windows open in the hot weather. Timing of breakfasts poor especially at weekends; surely don't have to have last orders at 9.30am. Appeared under-staffed with long delays ordering drinks at the bar”

“A clean and beautiful room in a quiet country inn. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the inn was situated in a great place for the sites and villages we were visiting. We didn’t have an evening meal at the property as we had plans but the meals looked wonderful. Breakfast the next morning was very reasonably priced with a great variety of options. I opted for the scrambled egg on sour dough which was lovely. I definitely recommend and would stay again.”

“It’s a real pub, so smokers and drinkers in the courtyard as we were shown to our room. Spotless and allowed to enter it early as it was ready for us. Staff were very welcoming and the choice and quality of breakfast was excellent.”

“The 5-night stay was overall comfortable, although there was an issue with controlling the temperature of the hot water shower. It would occasionally become scalding during showers. It would also be wonderful if breakfast could include some fruit. Other than these minor points, it was a delightful stay. When we arrived in the late afternoon, the reception gentleman kindly helped my daughter and me carry our luggage to the room on the 2nd floor.”
