Pack Horse Inn

"We had an enjoyable stay overall. The property is in an amazing location, offering a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful views. Unfortunately, our arrival was somewhat disappointing. The front desk staff were very abrupt and, on this occasion, came across as rather rude. This was in contrast to the rest of the staff, who were consistently friendly, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. The room itself was comfortable and well presented, although the pillows were too soft for our preference and the mattress could have been of a better quality. The main area that requires attention, however, was the bathroom linen. The towels were extremely worn and threadbare, to the point that one of them actually ripped while I was using it. Replacing the towels would certainly improve the overall guest experience. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our stay and would still consider returning, as the location, surroundings, and overall atmosphere make it a lovely place to stay.."

"We stayed at Kinder Lodge for 1 night, we found the staff to be very helpful and accommodating - thank you! Our room was clean and we slept very well! The cooked breakfast was lovely. The bathroom was a little dated but clean and lovely big towels provided. We would definitely visit again if we were in the area."

"Great cottage that didn’t get too hot during the summer heat wave as it was the ground floor of a multi story property. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals. Shower was especially nice. The driveway was a lot steeper and hard to turn into the parking space than we expected. We could have used the car park next to the property but then we would have had to pay during the day. I believe overnight parking was free. There were some parking spaces at the bottom of the driveway, but they were in use during our stay. Lots of shops and cafes nearby and the train station was about a 5 minute walk from the property. Garden area was lovely and a very quiet and private place to cool off in the evening after walking near the river. I enjoyed the location of the property as there were many day trips and places to see within a short driving distance. Manchester airport was about a 35 minute drive. I would stay here again."

"Lovely holiday cottage. Perfect for just myself, my husband and our dog. Fully equipped kitchen, immaculately clean. Lovely calming decor. Beautiful walks along the canal which is on the doorstep! Fantastic communication with the owner, Andy. Would definitely recommend. Had a very relaxing few days away. A"

"A welcome few days away… didn’t disappoint ! Great views and tucked away into country but within 10 minutes of the Oddfellows and The Devonshire, good food reasonably priced. On arrival the owners welcomed us and Kinder was not disappointing. Well thought, modern, clean and very comfortably furnished with everything needed…from a dishwasher to rainfall shower…freshly laundered bedding, towels and clean clean clean ! This was without doubt a “home from home†to return to at the end of a busy day, thank you."

"Great cottage for 4 individuals to share on a Peak District hike. Amazing grounds, well kept and clean interior, great stock of amenities including the milk and wine, but most of all the location on a quiet farm was perfect. Great pick."
