The experience me and my wife had here was just lovely. From the moment I got here, checked in until the morning we left. The Included breakfast and just how lovely the staff were. I would definitely come back to stay here and recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in this zone of TJ.

Hotel Aqua Rio was a nice, safe option for a budget hotel. None of the staff speaks English which is fun for practicing your Spanish, but could be a challenge for other travelers. The rooms do not have mini refrigerators which was a challenge for me having my insulin medicine. Thankfully they were accommodating of me accessing the breakfast area fridge to safely store it. The continental breakfast was good but basic, and it was exactly the same each day. I have the bigger deluxe room, which was nice and big, but the lighting was harsh white. It would have been nice to have a small lamp on the table next to the bed with a soft white light bulb. A dimmer switch would have been even better. The hotel is conveniently located near Washington Dental Clinic which I highly recommend. As opposed to the more expensive Hotel Ticuan, the Aqua Rio feels closer to the people which I really appreciated. Hotel Ticuan felt lonely for me as a single traveler. I already have reservations at the Aqua Rio for my next visit to Tijuana.
