"Nice"

"One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at! Convenient location, 5 minutes walk to the train station. Clean room with separate shower and bathtub and a small separate room for the toilet, Access to a broad range of toiletries easily accessed in the lobby. Breakfast was ideal: A buffet with high-quality options of both Japanese and western styles. Very friendly staff. Evening happy hour with free sake and variety of wine! There’s even ice cream and sweets served in the afternoon, also free, an added bonus and a nice gesture! Will stay again if traveling Japan again. Definitely recommended!"

"The room was clean and the room amenities, such as razor, slippers, ear buds, hair ties, etc were plenty and ready, but it would have been nice to have some lotion as well. Did not get to use the pajamas, but I will try at ourr next APA hotel. My main issue with this property is that the room was quite small for the king sized bed and the bathroom was the smallest I've seen in Japan so far."

"There was really no storage room for our suitcases, but the room was clean. The washers and dryers though were abysmal. They washed the clothes, but after putting them through dry cycles three or four times, the clothes still were not dry. We had to walk down the street to a laundromat to finish them up."

"This was my first trip to Kyoto with my family (4 adults). We wanted a hotel that was close to Kyoto Station and JR WEST GROUP VIA INN PRIME KYOTOEKI HACHIJOGUCHI was the perfect place. This location provided us with a wide selection of restaurants and shops. There is also a large shopping mall located at the Kyoto Station and another shopping mall just a few blocks away. There was also a 7-11 located next door which guests have access through the hotel lobby. So convenient! We reserved two rooms, hoping that our rooms would be fairly close to each other. Thankfully, the rooms were on the same floor, but at different ends of the hallway. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with a small refrigerator and large shower. However, counter space in the bathrooms were limited. We were able to get many of the toiletries in the lobby, such as toothbrushes, body lotion, facial masks, etc, which was very nice. We enjoyed the fresh towels that were delivered to our door each day, even though we did not need housekeeping service. The staff is very nice and helpful, however check-in was a bit confusing. Although we had a reservation for two rooms, we had to check in to each room separately via a kiosk, even though the rooms were under the same name. Check out had the same procedure. The staff was available to help, however it would have been nice to have the staff check us in and out at the front desk. Overall, Via Inn was a very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"Hotel was a lovely traditional style. Double room was large and well maintained. Private hotsprings were easy to book. Free drinks and snacks available throughout stay. Located next to JR Station on the line headed to arashiyama. Good stop over point. Nice to relax in the onsen after a long day's walk."

"Clean large room. Close and convenient to Kyoto station. Lots of dining options within walking distance. A bit further of a walk to get to main Kyoto attractions but doable or can take transit! Efficient check-in/check out. Ate dinner at hotel which was very good."
