GREAT Getaway!

Adventurous Getaway

This was a very exclusive getaway at the top of the mountain, away from everyone. The house was beautiful and well-stocked. We enjoyed every minute of our time there. The driveway into the community and house is no joke, especially when snowy. Make sure you're prepared with the right vehicle!

Beautiful!

Best views out of all the houses I have rented in the N.C. mountains ever. Close to West Jefferson’s adorable downtown. Will definitely come back!

Incredible View

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful weekend getaway and enjoyed our stay. The hot tub was our favorite part. A few notes: 4 wheel drive is an absolute must, the driveway is rough. There isn't really anywhere to walk a dog from the house and the only entrance has steep steps which were challenging for our old dog. We wanted to pack a lunch and leftovers, but there are no plastic containers or disposable baggies to use at the house.

Beautiful view

The only thing it could of used was steak knives and a few more larger skillets.

Amazing property!

Loved everything about this property. Views were mesmeric, home was beautifully maintained, kitchen was worthy of our daughter's self-proclaimed superior culinary skills : ) Enjoyed every minute. Word of caution: road is steep so SUV is an absolute must.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you need a place to relax, this is it! This is our second time staying at this cabin and it NEVER disappoints! Enjoyed the most spectacular view of the mountains from the hot tub while enjoying our apple cider mimosas each morning. House is super clean and has everything you need. Thank you for the perfect weekend for 3 couples who needed to unwind. We will be back next fall!

Private mountaintop spot with good wifi, it was also convenient to hiking, parks, and fishing holes that we visited during the day. Wonderful kitchen to look at the mountains while prepping dinner. No complaints!

Great place!

This property didn't have many reviews, so it was a bit of a roll of the dice, but wow, is it nice! You are not "in" the mountains, but on TOP of one, so the views are stunning. We enjoyed the hot tub and the excellent kitchen. We felt the mattresses were overly firm, but that's just a preference thing I guess. I think they recommend 4x4 year round for this place in the listing, which I agree with. It is a real climb, but well worth it. We would 100% stay here again and would also recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a well-built and well-appointed home with Parkway-like views from the comfort of home.

Wonderful! Great property, location and amenities!

From the moment we completed our drive up the hill (and yes, you do need an AWD/4WD) and saw this beautiful property perched high on the mountain, we were impressed. You hope that the home itself can match the beautiful views--and it does! The main living area is a large kitchen/dining/living area with high vaulted ceilings and wood accents everywhere, and itself is a sight to behold, particularly with the amazing view out the many large windows. For the two of us, the master king at the end of the hallway was the perfect size and very comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed, with everything one would need to dine in (there is a nice Ingles grocery store less than 20 mins away). We took advantage of the wood burning fireplace (you can buy firewood from an "honor system" woodshed on the road to the house), and of course the screened-in porch, the deck and the amazing hot tub located there. The furniture in the living area was comfortable, and we even got to keep up with our shows on the internet-connected TV. For us, the location of the house was exactly what we were looking for. It is the last house on the gravel road into this sparsely populated development, and is very isolated at what must be the top of the mountain. Yet it is less than 25 minutes from the cute town of West Jefferson, where there is plenty of shopping and dining to cover all tastes. This was the ideal "home away from home," and we are already looking to find a date to return in the cooler months!

Panoramic Point

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Kitchen was great for cooking, plenty of items to cook with. My favorite thing was the ice maker on the counter. The view was just as good as the photos pictured, we took family sunset photo on the deck it was great.It is perfect for elderly family, it is all on one floor. Only a couple steep steps at the front of house. My partner's father loved this place. His favorite spot was the rocking chairs in the screened in porch, where he mostly listened to music and stared out at the mountain landscape. The tv in the living room has a good sound bar system if you are having a movie night. They even have a subwoofer speaker on the ground. I suggest 4WD vehicle. I drove my ALL wheel drive vehicle which is a MINI and did fine until the last couple of switch backs and could not get her up the last part of the mountain without holding in my clutch in first gear. Definitely burnt my clutch a bit. I cannot speak for ALL Wheel drive automatic vehicles. I did make it to the house and I didn't leave the entire stay because I did not want to make the mountain drive again lol. My partners 4WD Truck did fine with no issues. With that being said if you have the right vehicle to get up there it is a dream spot. I mean the best, we saw a HUGE double rainbow after the rain and the temperature up there was fantastic because of the breeze.

The Best View Around

Beautiful sunrises, every day is different. Located on a ridge there is also a view behind the cabin through the trees. Hot tub was clean and warm for our December visit. We wanted to see snow and were not disappointed. The cabin is well equipped and very clean. Wood fireplace was a nice surprise during our winter stay.The drive up the mountain is a little confusing at first but becomes routine. Probably not doable without four-wheel drive.We will be returning to Panoramic Point.

Gorgeous view!!

Loved the location! Very close to West Jefferson and only about 35 min to Boone. Great house with awesome views. Definately a steep driveway so listen to the listing when it says 4WD recommended
