Welcoming 4BR Home in Little Portugal w Workspaces
Summary:
Pretty, bright, spacious, and comfortable house in a fantastic neighbourhood (Brockton Village / Little Portugal), an easy Uber / streetcar ride to downtown, the U of Toronto, etc. (or 15-20 min by bike).
You'll be around the corner from great restaurants, bars, and shops as well as the streetcar stops on Dundas and College, and just up the block from a rec centre (pool, weight room). Also convenient to Queen St West and the shops and restaurants on Roncesvalles, with High Park just beyond.
The Space:
This 3-story, 4-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom Toronto row house was built in 1911 and renovated several times since. The 1st and 2nd floors were renovated most recently, and there are some nice architectural details (stained glass downstairs and a curved wall in the master bedroom with an interior leaded-glass window).
1st floor: open-plan living/dining room, large and well-equipped kitchen, half bathroom, access to small back yard. The living room has a 43" smart TV with Roku.
2nd floor: 3 bedrooms, full bathroom. The master bedroom (blue, in the front of the house) has a queen bed; the middle bedroom (yellow) has a double-sized bed, along with a nice workspace and USB laser printer; the rear bedroom (orange) has a double.
PLEASE NOTE: In October 2026, new window blinds and nice wood sliding doors were installed to provide comfort and privacy in the middle bedroom, as you can see in the pictures, so if you notice reviews that mention the old blinds or the curtain, please know that this bedroom now has been upgraded and has new blinds and proper doors.
PLEASE NOTE: The 2nd-floor bathroom is between the middle and rear bedrooms, sharing adjacent walls with each (a common layout for houses of the era), and its sink is quite small.
3rd floor, a converted and finished attic, with angled roof: bedroom (double); den with a couch, coffee table, and desk; full bathroom.
PLEASE NOTE: While this floor was not renovated along with the 1st and 2nd floors, it has been upgraded for comfort. The bedroom now has its own dedicated air conditioner, as you can see in the picture, ensuring a cool and comfortable stay in the bedroom even during the summer months, although the hallway and bathroom may be warmer.
Basement: laundry room with washer and dryer.
Parking: the house does not have its own parking, but on-street permit parking is easily available for purchase (search online for "toronto temporary on-street permit parking").
PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO REACH OUT IF THERE IS ANY WAY I CAN MAKE YOUR STAY MORE PLEASANT AND COMFORTABLE!
Guest Access:
➤ Please note that access to mailbox or mailbox key will not be available for bookings that are shorter than 3 months.
The Neighborhood:
This eclectic, multicultural neighborhood is filled with all manner of quirky bars, seriously good restaurants, independent stores, and family-style Portuguese bakeries. Traditionally home to people of Portuguese and Brazilian backgrounds, it’s become even more diverse in recent years. If you’re lucky enough to be here in June there’s the Dundas West Fest—a street party of music, food, dancing and arts.
I hope you'll enjoy the neighbourhood as much as I do!
Please see my Host guidebook below.
If the weather is nice and you like biking, I'd highly recommend it as a great way to get around. (Do be careful when crossing streetcar tracks: you want to cross at an angle to avoid any risk of your wheels getting stuck in the track.) There is a bike share station around the corner, outside the Mary McCormick Recreation Centre at 66 Sheridan Ave (Sheridan just south of Frankish).
There is an excellent cafe, Lola's, on the corner at 234 Brock.
There are so many great restaurants, and it's hard to go wrong. (Check out the guidebook!)
For bars, just walk up and down Dundas and maybe make your way east to Ossington!
And if you like antiques / vintage furniture, etc, check out the strip on Queen St West just east of Roncesvalles.
Getting Around:
There are streetcar stops right around the corner on Dundas and College, and Queen St is a 5-10 min. walk to the south.
And there is a bike share station around the corner, outside the Mary McCormick Recreation Centre at 66 Sheridan Ave (Sheridan just south of Frankish).
The house does not have its own parking, but on-street permit parking is easily available for purchase. (Search online for "toronto temporary on-street permit parking.")
Other Things to Note:
➤ NoiseAware monitoring device located in the living room
Interaction with Guests:
I will be your personal concierge for your stay. If you have any questions, you’re lost, or just need some great recommendations, I’ll be there for you around the clock.
