Great stay. Comfy, stylish stay with fantastic views over Devon countryside. Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Would have given a higher score but on our arrival our room was freezing cold and took approx 12 hrs to warm up with radiators on full. After that it was nice and comfortable.
The property was dirty broken floorboards in bedroom and toilet seat broken. There was no one at property when first arrived and no one answered phone. When we checked in our room after a few hours we were asked to move as the room was double booked. We moved to another room downstairs and then had no sleep as the couple we moved for kept us awake all night. The breakfast was not up to standard and we feel we paid far too much for what we did not receive. I feel a full refund should be offered as there was no one in the morning to discuss our complaints with. We would not recommend this place to anyone.
I couldn't not have spent my 60th birthday anywhere better.
The room was lovely and the bed was incredibly comfortable.
The staff were wonderful and the food was incredible!
A real find, superb room with balcony overlooking the Devon countryside, friendly helpful staff and brilliant food. Would definitely recommend - very dog friendly too!
Stayed for one night on business. Rooms and restaurant all good but it was a little unclear that the free breakfast just included a box of cornflakes some bread and jam and yogurts in the room

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Disliked: Staff & service
Be aware that you need to contact the hotel prior to arriving, I booked and arrived the same day, the restaurant was closed and I had to find/assume my own room. No breakfast provided either.

Peaceful but simple
Great setting, overlooking rolling hills, and easily accessible to Totnes (as well as Dartmouth and Salcombe for a day). Pub below is lively and food is excellent, but be aware that breakfast is literally just some bread and jam in your in-room fridge, and not something you can order hot etc.
Lovely welcome and superb views across rolling South Hams with glimpses of Dartmoor from the veranda. Quirky comfortable attic room. We are short but tall people would struggle. Food very good indeed with great good value wines. Service attentive. Shame about poor "continental" breakfast. We came home to a proper one.
We arrived as arranged just after 5pm on Monday 16th March. The premises were deserted and although the letting rooms were unlocked there was no message or instructions for us, just a board visible just inside the pub saying it was next open on Thursday. We tried phoning and left messages but got no reply. There was nowhere within miles to get any food or drink. As we did not feel safe or welcome staying here we had to find somewhere else for the night.
We actaully ended up in another of the rooms - the one with a small kitchen. We very like the style and decor of the room, and the very friendly service. We have been very well looked after.
Excellent room very clean and finished to a high standard. Beautiful food and great choice on the menu. Very helpful friendly staff where nothing was too much trouble.
Lovely room and very friendly staff. Foo d was really tasty and overall not too expensive

Got to the pub at 7.45pm on Sunday night to find the place closed!
Knocked on the door and rang the establishment for 30 mins to no avail.Thank god Hotels.com refunded the money after they rang the place and got no answer.
On website it says arrivals can arrive up to 11pm .So Hotels.com need to change the arrival time as many other people will be caught out .
Will not be coming back Live And Let Live Inn as from previous reviews this seems to happen a lot!
Beautiful location, recently renovated to a high spec. Everything was comfortable and beautifully presented. A real foodies restaurant, incredible food, best pasta from a restaurant in ages. Special shout out to Patrick for being super accommodating and helpful during our stay.
