"Location is great and the hotel is quiet. One of our rooms was dirty when we checked in, but the hotel staff changed our room the next day. Rooms are tiny (as in most of Japanese hotels) and the aircon was loud. But overall helpful staff and decent accommodations- specially given the price. One complaint though - it’s got Marriott branding and even with my platinum status I got no perks, not even water or an offer for upgrade. Staff need better education."

Hotel Brighton City Osaka Kitahama

"I had a great stay at Brighton City Osaka Kitahama. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout my visit. One feature I really appreciated was being able to control the room lights and other functions directly from the alarm clock—it was surprisingly convenient and easy to use. The room was very spacious by Japan standards and even included a couch, which made it feel much more comfortable than many hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. The bathroom was also generously sized, with both a nice shower and a bathtub. The breakfast buffet was decent with a good selection, but it wasn’t anything that really stood out to me. If I stayed here again, I’d probably skip adding breakfast. The only real downside is the location. While it’s close to Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street, it’s not within a short walk of major attractions like Dotonbori or Osaka Castle—both are over 30 minutes away on foot, so you’ll likely be using public transit. That said, the hotel’s pricing reflects its location, so it still offers good value. Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend Brighton City Osaka Kitahama to anyone who doesn’t mind taking the train or subway to Osaka’s main attractions."
