「Stayed here Mon-Fri. My initial opinion of this place was very good. Staff were very friendly and appeared efficient. Check-in was easy. 「We have stayed here before several times but this time was really disappointing. We booked an accessible room but on arrival we were told this wasn't available and we were on the first floor. It was fortunate my operation for a knee replacement was postponed or I wouldn't have managed the stairs (no lift). The first floor room was stifling as it was during the ongoing heatwave. 「Owners were very pleasant, helpful and informative. Accommodation is not suitable for physically impaired people: two flight of stairs. While the room, apart from the overhead oak beams, in general was a bit tired, the bedding was very clean and comfortable and the tea/coffee facilities in good supply, as was breakfast. 「A warm welcome and shown to the room. The room itself was very comfortable. However, there was no air conditioning of any type or fan in the room in the excessive heat. It did not make for a comfortable night’s sleep. A guest fire action notice or a simple evacuation map showing the route to the nearest stairwell was not readily available behind the door. 「My husband stayed at Deangate Motel due to working locally. The motel was clean staff helpful in that they let him keep the same room when he extended his stay due to not finishing his work on time. The room he was in he could see his work van clearly and the carpark was super safe as it joined the police station carpark so gave him peace of mind .will stay again as a couple so we can explore the area locally which is walking distance to Lydney. Beautiful countryside for walking.」

「My overall assessment on the stay would rate it no more than a three star. There are some minor maintenance issues that need to be looked into. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was very good and the full English was excellent. The idea of filling out what you wanted for breakfast the previous day was not really how I would like it as this might change, I would prefer to decide on the day. Conclusion: The accommodation was a little tired and in need of a spruce up.」
