Basic but convenient and friendly
The hotel is in a great location a few seconds walk from the main road in Tulum centre, with shops, laundry, gym, bars and restaurants all within walking distance. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is basic but clean and spacious. Water pressure in bathroom is not good so if you like a decent shower consider this. Not sure if this is just rooms on upper floor or all hotel. Tulum is a big town, but still in the jungle, so bring anti-mosquito spray or plug-in for night time.

Excellent!
This was my first time in Playa del Carmen and my first time staying at a hostel. I was very reluctant but I am so glad that I stayed at this place. In fact for the rest of my trip I booked at hostels but none of them compared to this one. It is absolutely adorable, like stepping into a jungle, and the rooms were super cool and modern with excellent air conditioning. I slept too late to get breakfast because I was out late the night before dancing in all the discos which are literally one block to two blocks away. This hostel is in the heart of the center of Playa del Carmen with the shops, restaurants, and the nightlife. At this price it was amazing. $45 for two queen beds private shower, in air conditioning room. Excellent service, extremely clean, very friendly reception and the other guests were kind and clean in the group kitchen and hostel. I think one of the perks was that they did not charge me a third guest fee when I had a friend come and stay in the other bed in our room. Everywhere else wanted 30 to $40 which was ridiculous. I highly recommend hostel MX!

Nice hotel on the main street of the town.
The hotel was ultra clean. In our apartment there was a kitchen, so we enjoyed almost all the fruits from a local store and washed them clean at home. The only problem was with the AC in one room only, so one room was cold and another hot.

Terrible hotel experience
The hotel receptionist is very rude. When we got there he had bad manners from the start and treated us like if we were interrupting his free time. Then he demanded cash for the room. I explained to him that I had already paid through orbitz and asked him to use that credit card to charge the room. He refused and insisted that if we did not give him cash there was no room for us. He said he could not charge my credit card and only wanted cash. He told us to go find another hotel that would accept credit cards and assure us that we would NOT be charged for the night. However, 3 days later they charged my credit card for the room (after they claimed they couldn’t and why hey demanded cash). It seems like they do this to tourists counting on the fact that once you leave you can’t contact them. I’ve called them and they don’t pick up. I have emailed them and they stopped responding after I asked them to explain why they were charging me when they assured me they wouldn’t. I am willing to provide more details if needed (feel free to reach out to me), I just don’t want others to be scammed like I was. That’s not decent of them to be scamming people and then simply ignoring emails/calls. Luckily, Orbitz and my bank took care of it!

Hello! thank you very much for your comments, however, only based on your dissatisfaction with the collection of cancellation fees, since last minute you decided to stay at another hotel, apparently as if you only came to verify that you were not charged for not staying and Writing your own opinion when the cancellation fee was made was when your disagreement arose. regards!!

This was a ok hotel right off the main avenue. Easy to walk to restaurants and such, and a short taxi to the beach. It was clean and staff was nice. The courtyard was a good touch. We got tacos at the place on the corner and had a relaxed dinner in the courtyard.

Best Hotel on the Beach
Every room seemed to have a veiw of the ocean. Probably the best hotel on the beach. Very nice and clean. Staff were exceedingly nice.

Great place but a few unexpected surprises
The rooms are behind a business so you do not have the street view. I was looking forward to paying with my card but they did not accept cards so I had to get cash from an ATM which was a BIG hassle. Last but not least, even though they say that there is parking, the only parking available is on the street which was safe but not what I was expecting as I had a rental car. The guy at the front desk was very helpful and was very accommodating.

Nice little place in Tulum
I booked this room using the Expedia app on my phone while on the bus from from Valladolid to Tulum. I was a little discouraged upon arrival because the hotel is not much to look at from the outside. (The same can be said of the town of Tulum.) The room was nicely furnished and clean. The price seemed a bit high given that there are no amenities (e.g., pool) but not out of line with other properties in the area. I would stay here again.

Nice hotel close to the main bus station
Nice, quiet hotel 1 1/2 blocks from the central bus station. Very doable to get there from Cancun with public transit, don't need a car. We didn't need a car in Tulum either, we were able to rent bicycles from the hotel for $5/day and easily bike ride (mostly on dedicated bike paths) to the Mayan ruins of the Ancient city and the beach. We also easily took a public bus from 1/2 block from the hotel to Xel Ha which was a really great unique experience. What I liked best about the hotel was the location near the bus station. There was a good pizza place next door to the hotel. The rooms were large for 2 people, no steps to carry luggage on the main floor. The Wifi worked great. Basic hotel, the rate was great, the staff were nice, but some didn't understand English.

The hotel was perfectly located, clean, and friendly. Had to pay in cash and arrived late without enough. They allowed me to stay and pay the next day. Bed was comfy, ac cold, shower hot with good pressure.

Well located hotel
I recommend the hotel because of its cleanliness and proximity to the main street and bus station. The center court is shaded and pleasant and useful for conversation with other guests. Guests can use the refrigerator which was appreciated for chilling beverages.

Nice place
A very nice place, clean and tidy. There's no breakfast included and no coffee stand or milk. They do have a fridge and and a water boiler outside for all the occupants of the rooms to use. We personally just bought coffe and milk at a supermarket near by and made a breakfast. They offer free bikes to take and ride along Tulum, the beach is a 30 minutes ride from the place. Not too difficult tough cause there's no hills. The location isn't near the beach, we had a car and loved it anyway. The stuff was nice and helpful.

We stay this hotel to visit TULUM. It takes only 15min from hotel to Tulum. Pros: houskeeping, Bed, near the downtown Cons: No private refrigerator(we need to use shared refrigerator), No Parking lot(parking car on street in front of hotel)

BIGGEST Mistake of my trip
First time I have ever had to ask for a shower head to be installed after I checked in. It was just a bare pipe coming out of the wall. There was a plastic bag tied around the pipe to slow the leak. The cistern for the water was just outside our room. #5. Could not sleep all night because of the shrieking of the pump. The window latch was broken, so it would not close completely. Dogs bark all night. Owners dog is the deep bark, neighbors dog is the higher pitched one. Bed is harder than a rock. Asked for a new room. Was told "NO! I had booked online, so I could not cancel". I just asked for a different room. Owners do not care, I just got a shoulder shrug. Booked for 6 days, had to pay for it, couldn't take it after 3. Paid for a different room. My husband and I have been traveling in Belize and Mexico for a month. Worst place of them all!!!

Sehr lautes Hotel
Sehr lautes Hotel, da direkt an der Zufahrt zum Busbahnhof, neben einem Resturant und einem Motorrad-Lieferdienst. Zudem ist die Hauptstraße des Ortes dicht dran. Zimmer sind mit Aunahme von ein paar kleinen Mängeln in einem gutem Zustand. Personal ist freundlich und hilfbereit.

hello! you are confused with about other place you stayed. there is no restaurant her and no scooter place rental neither next to the bus station.only thing here you made a reservation and you did not paid.

Super Unterkunft mit geräumigen Zimmern und super warmer/heißer Dusche. Mega gute Lage zur Hauptstraße mit vielen kleinen Läden und super Restaurants. Leider hat das wifi nicht wirklich gut funktioniert und Nachts war es auch mal lauter, aber eher durch komische nicht zuordnender Wassergeräusche.

Se non sbaglio nel servizio EXPEDIA comprendeva il trasporto dall'aeroporto e la colazione. Invece non c'era nulla. Il posto é pulito e abbastanza ben tenuto. Il personale gradevole. Il problema più grosso é il rumore (causa la maleducazione degli ospiti) che fanno casino tutta la notte senza regole!

Tres bon accueil. Proche de la rue principal. Nous avons eu un problème d air conditionné mais ils ont rapidement fait intervenir un réparateur. Dommage que le rideau de douche ne soit pas plus grand car toute la salle de bain est mouillée. Mais ca reste un détail.
