The location is amazing and the staff are wonderful- really friendly and helpful.
The spa is good and breakfast is lovely too. However, the evening restaurant food is poor and basically very overpriced low quality pub food. The restaurant is the most not letdown, otherwise a wonderful hotel and stay.
Such a relaxing stay! Huge room with comfortable beds and plentiful tea and coffee facilities - especially nice local touch using Herdy mugs. Spa and pool were very nice, and lovely outdoor spaces to relax right on the lake. Would have loved more time to spend a lazy afternoon in the cosy surroundings getting lost in a book. Good cooked breakfast, my husband especially enjoyed the smoked haddock and poached eggs. Would love to come back and stay longer next time!
Dave d the hotel
manager really took the time to make sure we wad looked after. This hotel was s in a fantastic location and and all the team made us feel welcome and very dog friendly. I had the best relaxing stay
We went as a family with two children and thorough enjoyed our stay. The lake view was so beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. We would highly recommend a stay here for a relaxing time.
Not really disability friendly, few grab handles in the shower, very small lowdown fridge requiring almost hands and knees to see contents. Two separate lifts placed side by side at one side of the building ( why ? ) Very limited access for Rollator, walker users although staff do their best to help. Very large and comfortable bed, great flat screen telly with good reception no aircon in room but decent fan supplied for hot weather. food ok and good level of cleanliness.
Would go again bearing these comments in mind.
Absolutely beautiful hotel, excellent location and helpful staff. Alex was so helpful at the check in.
Food was amazing at the Brasserie. I would say 5*hotel rather. Loved our sty, definitely coming back.
Loved our stay, travelled up on the Friday for a wedding on the Saturday went home Sunday. Would definitely book here again, Classic room was lovely, very modern and clean, loved how it was toastey warm for us in the room, lovely hotel. Breakfast over priced though.
Lovely retreat with our 9 month old and the grandparents. Staff were great and couldn’t do enough to make our stay relaxed and enjoyable. Food was superb and breakfast also catered for our little one with toast & fruit. Great location for trips and the aquarium over the road. Will be returning soon.
Room wasn't cleaned prior to our arrival, it appeared some else had checked into our room but then removed. Cleaning staff was brilliant

Excellent hotel, great facilities, wonderful food and drink, amazing views and incredible staff. Would highly recommend for a romantic weekend away - which is why we did, but loads of families there too. Some excellent walks nearby. Would highly recommend.
We stayed for New Year’s Eve and the staff couldn’t be more friendly and attentive! The hotel is gorgeous and the views of the lake are lovely. It’s a little bit out of the way but it’s worth it for a lovely stay. The breakfast was also really good!
