“The star of the show (aside from the obvious idyllic views) was the staff. We ended up feeling like they were extended family. Be mindful, though, of your expectations. Do your research on Puerta Plata and the surrounding area. When you go to Umbrella street district (or anywhere for that matter), vendors are VERY aggressive. Also, carefully consider your reason for visiting. I intentionally avoided the tourist resort so I wasn’t really isolated from the locals. Americans are definitely gonna……

“DO NOT STAY HERE: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Part 1 The issues began with misinformation between the resort and the member who owned the villa. I was given an incorrect price for the all-inclusive add-on. Even after the member acknowledged providing the wrong price, no meaningful effort was made to honor the quoted rate or provide a reasonable accommodation. Instead, after spending hours in the lobby trying to resolve the issue, I was left with only two options: downgrade my stay or accept a refund……

Hot tub was warmer than the pool and they made it hot when asked, which made it more fun in the rain.Staff: Fantastic! Absolutely amazing! The 2 ladies would cook/clean during the day time hours. Kept it very clean and cooked great. Individual meals or large family style meals. They had some favorite options written down to help……
