“We loved everything about this sweet place. The yard and garden is so serene and peaceful. And the house is as cute as it could be. The location worked well for side trips to Abiquiú, the local wineries were fun visits, and all of the locals were friendly and warm. Highly recommend. ”

“We have often traveled through this area but wanted to stay and explore for a few days. We couldn't have chosen a better location! The casita was an enchanting historical building set in a breathtaking area. Floyd was so welcoming and gave us great advice of things to do and places to see in the area. Definitely the place to stay if you want to explore the beauty of northern New Mexico.”

“Go to bed at sunset, get up at sunrise. No noisy alarms, rest in your sleeping bag on top of the mattress, build a fire in the old cast-iron stove if needed, wave at your neighbor, but leave them alone. Great sky views, Perhaps especially at night. Zillions of stars come out. Highly recommended place for a solo retreat, as I took.”

“Dirt roads to lodging very rough in spots. Driveway to property is downhill is a dirt road in poor condition. I did not want to risk damaging my rental car by driving up and down that driveway another 6 days.Also, the bed was very uncomfortable for me. I had no intention of sleeping in that bed for another 6 days, so I left.”

“It’s a pretty isolated property. Lots of peace and serenity. The kids did dogs and s’mores after building a campfire. If you have a Tesla this probably isn’t the best place. Taos does not have a supercharger and the closest one is in Sante Fe. Actually I would stay away from Taos all together if you have a Tesla. Other than that ( it’s not the property fault) the place was great. Had a neat hiking trail, fire pit, some neat art work in the typical New Mexico vibe. If you love nature this is a……

“We wanted to find a place that was close to Taos, Santa Fe and Abiquiu and Truchas seemed like the perfect place. I had never heard of Truchas before, but immediately fell in love with the place and the Casita when I saw it on Vrbo. Usually we stay in town, either Taos or Santa Fe so this was different as it is very secluded in a good way.
