The best thing about this "hotel" is its location. It's close to the Piazza San Marco and not too far from the Grand Canal. Also, being at the end of a small, obscure alley with buildings all around and no view but neighbors' windows, it provided noise-free sleep.
That said, there are several negatives: (1) there is no real breakfast, only small pre-packaged snacks, mostly not stuff for people on diets (we indulged because there was nothing else); (2) available staff is limited to one employee with limited hours; (3) the plumbing is among the worst I have ever experienced: the shower cycled from hot to cold and back again without moving the temperature knob; and (4) the locks and keys and electricity turn-on are among the most byzantine I've ever seen; they all required plenty of trial of error, and "instructions" in multiple languages were too brief and unfocused to help.
All in all, this hotel is best for young people on their first trip abroad, not for experienced over-80 travelers like us. The marketing materials were brilliant; they made us expect something quite different from what we got, including a real breakfast.
