“I arrived after dark and the hotel and the village were like a magical New England winter scene with sparkling lights everywhere. The proximity of the hotel to a typical New England church and numerous white painted wooden framed structures was a scene from our historical heritage. The hotel was reopened less than a year ago after extensive renovations. The outcome is a GEM. Decorations deserve an A+.”

“If you love retro/vintage/history/ quiet and pet friendly this place is wonderful for a short stay and lowkey weekend. So many cool local businesses and delicious food. We went for a show at the stone church- walking distance from hotel! And everything we could have needed was easily accessible. They have a bar downstairs and a movie theatre in the hotel! All rooms have record players and vinyls to play with more available. Big rooms. “Dated” but it’s keeping with the retro style- very clean and……

Our hosts were very kind, and put generous effort into providing delicious breakfasts, giving suggestions about local attractions, and allowing us as much or as little cat time as we wanted. The room we were in was very cozy, with a comfortable bed, and thoughtful touches such as a water kettle for tea or coffee, a small fridge, and a TV setup we didn’t take advantage of. “Do not stay here. Inhabitable, unsafe. Had to leave. Fire alarms taken off wall. Tissue covering sprinklers. Light fixtures broken. Walls dirty. Bed sheets and pillows dirty. ”

“What a warm and welcoming place to stay. Beds and pillows were super comfortable, very clean room. Common areas were cozy and clean. You will never find a better breakfast than the 3 course meal we had. Local yogurt, homemade lemon curd, with homemade granola and berries. Then wonderfully cooked frittata with Crème fraîche, local sourdough toast, and a bed of nice greens and radishes. Then the most amazing citrus olive oil cake. There is coffee, tea and homemade cookies always available.……
